I work in a retail store (woolies for all you UK peeps.)

and we often get stock in early to prepare it for it's release.

The new LOTR boxset is amazing, i didnt open the package, but it is of great design and great detail. will have a look tommorow, and update to let y'all know what its like.

Also the ep2 dvd and vhs, it comes on it's own or with ep1 in a pack, and is of the same design as ep1 (gold writing etc).

the pain i feel knowing that these films are just sitting there waiting to be watched, its torture i tell you!!

ok, i looked, wowsers hehe, the box is made of a delicate cardboard!! (i ripped the little bit that tucks in to hold it closed :( ). so be careful.

the bookends are sturdy, quite heavy, i don'y know the exact material, like metalic/porcelain stuff, i dunno sorry, sure you can understand!! very detailed!!

the box with the dvds in it folds out and is adorned with the imagery that was shown on the official site, also it has the scene when the fellowship enters moria, in painting form.

also contains a booklet here are the contents:

a few paragrahs regarding the special scenes, same again for the appendices(special features), track list, some LOTR imagery which has been sketched (elves on horses etc...)

has a map of middle earth, showing the route taken by frodo represented by a red line.

a pic of barad-dur adorns the back cover.

lists of special features

(which they have called the appendices) it is no ordinary list, it is laid out in a family tree style, hard to explain, but you'll understand when you see it :)

the strange thing though, which im not sure about is that the movie itself seems to be on two discs, meaning changing dvds half-way through :?

on the first disc it says LOTR:FOTR part one and part two on the second.

appendices part one on disc 3 and app part 2 on disc 4.

oh well, that's about it, if you wanna know any more info, lemme know ill try to tell you, only a few days to go though!! :)

O.o you mean that goes along just as the books do????

If so, I'm not totally sure.....I know that there is about 25-30 minutes of additional footage and newer behind-the-sceens features! I can't wait to see it! I'm not an expert on the books though......:indif:

btw-you've been busy Z, I think I saw a couple days ago, your post count was at like 450 or somethin'......

Me too. I haven't seen AOTC yet either, but I've pre-ordered the DVD (and crossing my fingers that it's okay).

I also pre-ordered the LOTR Special Edition Box Set, and now I'm salivating at the mouth. I'm glad I waited for this edition...and I'll take note about opening the box carefully. :D
