elTee
It was just on tv, and I remembered a rumour I heard when the film first came out. In the pod-race sequence you are supposedly able to see Manny Calavera from Grim Fandango in the crowds. I only have a vhs copy, so it is hard to see, and impossible on my vcr to pause the tape without distorting the picture. I thought I saw him right at the end, just as anakin wins the race. He is right bang in the middle of the screen, and the only person who doesn't jump up in celebration. However, I think this person might actually be one of those alien dudes who played in the cantina band in episode IV. Basically, if anyone has the dvd then they can jump to this scene, pause the film and zoom in. This way they could see whether or not Manny is actually in any of the crowd sequences. Maybe if you have a dvd-rom drive you could upload a pic of manny if he is actually in the film?
Remi
I think that has pretty much been confirmed as just a rumor. There are some screendumps of it online (used to be atleast) and I can not see how that can be Manny.
Metallus
Manny isn't there, but I think Indy is.
Gabez
Well The Force.net has a pretty detailed Cameos section, and says this about the subject: Many have said you can find a character from the Lucasarts game Grim Fandango in the crowd for a reaction shot during the pod race. Manny Calavera is the cartoon skeleton with a big round head. This website says it's not him, but that people are mistaking a Bith for the original looking character. He was right. Many other characters have been rumored to be in the pod race crowd like Indiana Jones, an ape from Planet of the Apes, and much more! Nope, not a real Easter Egg. Go here for high detail pictures. The Cantina aliens are there for certain, however, as you can see from this page.
