Keyan Farlander
Melkor did return, but he made a mistake and returned a long time ago in a galaxy far, far away where he again rose to power by getting himself elected Viceroy of the Trade Federation. Taarkin
If they stopped to build a trebuchet, then Gandalf & Pals would have gotten back before the seige even began.
Admiral Odin
Traditional Seiges lasted for months, which allowed the Engineers to build the trebuchet. The Seige at Helm Deep lasted only hours, hence they couldn't have built the very heavy stuff. However there were portable ones, that can be easily transported. Other than the boiling oil and artillery, there were many more things the defenders could have done. For instance: Creating Pitch fields right in front of the army. Then with all those archers light the fields and watch the orcs burn.

Nute Gunray
Helm's Deep could have been much better prepared. I mean, it's not like that was the first time they used it either...

Rogue15
finally got to see the movie, would've seen it sooner if i didn't have to rely on my parents for a ride..... I thought it was a pretty cool movie. I especially liked those dragons, and the fight between gandalf and the balrog. helms deep was a rainy mess of awesome battles and death!!!!
