Guy: Dragons? Here? How unusual...

Marin: <Fits with the whole unleashing of the magic world motif.>

Guy: No. According to my ship's scanners, these creatures aren't magic at all.

Marin: <Then if they're entirely physical creatures...>

Raschel: Okay. *to Heimdall and Idun, pointedly* Since you're being all knowledgable right now - what are those things and what are they doing here? Why are they attacking us?

((;)))

*WH Irvine re-weilds his saber.*

WH Irvine: "Damnit, won't this day ever end?"

RH Irvine: "Tell me about it."

WH Irvine: "huh?"

*RH Irvine stands ready to fight. RH Irvine looks down to see a long cable. Pondering aobut it for a sec, he checks outside out on the top of the Asgardreid through the port hole, he sees a spot on the hull where he can attach the cord to.*

*He pauses for a sec, thinking about what happened earlyer, then he picks up the cord, force throws at the portion of the hull, and force pulls the end back, creating a loop. He ties it to himself, and jumps out, while tightening the cord, keeping him firmly attached to the hull. He ignites his lightsaber, and force throws it at a dragon, barely missing it.*

((not sure if i can 'injure' the dragon or not. (not being controlled by me and all)))

((Scar. You realize that this cord could not pass through the ships hull. RH Irvine would have to climb outside the ship. Also you misunderstood Deac. He said increase as in increase the amount of dragons the sword has killed

BD: What ship are you talking about. Because if it is the Asgardreid then how would the droid know since there isn't any contact between the two...))

Idun: Do you need my help here or should I enlighten our ....

Heimdall: Go ahead enlighten them.

*Idun leaves the bridge and seals it behind her. She then goes to the lounge.*

Idun: Listen carefully because I will not repeat myself. Those dragons are not creatures of Magic but of something else. They are not Syrnl's pet projects. They cannot be killed.

Dragon is more of a nickname for them. It is used because it is commonly understood furthermore gives you some idea of them. You don't need to know their actual name and I will continue to call them dragons anyways.

The only way to stop these dragons is to make them go to sleep to hibernate. To do this requires basically a powerful spell. Which unfortunatly cannot be cast.

Now to the fun part. This ship has quantum armor which means it is basically indestructible by conventional means. Now the Dragons breath fire. I'm sure you seen the balls of fire flying passed the ship. Now if one of those balls of fire hit's the ship's hull it will literally burn through the hull.

Now to Raschels question. Most likely they are coming at us because we helped imprison them and also because they are hungry and the Asgardried being a large ship looks like a prime choice of food.

So you can put away your weaons, and can someone please pull in that idiot.

-------------------------------

*The lighsaber that RH Irvine foolishly threw at the second dragon is destroyed in the dragons claws. Nidhogg closes the distance*

-------------------------------

*Heimdall skillfully piloted the Asgardreid heading for their one chance of escape.*

*Hal lets his fighter climb. Seeing the Asgardried being pursued by Dragons Hal considers his options.*

Hal: Can my day get any worse?

Chip: Wooop Wooop

Hal: I don't know how my father put up with you, you're too pesimistic.

((OSS: Admiral, Chip is tracking the transponder. Seems I forgot to mention))

((I ment like a spot to attach a hook or something. Didn't think it would be something major, just something to send a cable/cord through))

*WH Irvine pulls in RH Irvine.*

WH Irvine: "get in here before you get yourself killed!"

RH Irvine: "Damn. Lost my damn saber. Good thing I've snaged some of the sabers from..." *sighs* "Yeah, you know... Damnit..."

WH Irvine: "What ever..." *Shouts up to Hiemdall* "Yo doesn't this ship have that sort of invisiblity shielding or what ever you had a week ago?" *softer* "Damn I'm not ever going to forget myself landing smack on a hull of a ship that 'wasnt' there..."

((I think that was more than a week ago, Scar.))

Raschel: So, the only way to stop this thing is a powerful spell that cannot be cast? So, what...all we get to do is sit in here and wait for it to fry this ship in midair?

Misae: I heard of this quantum armor. I thought it was indestructible...what kind of 'fire' are these dragons breathing?

((Other than the time. It is also a different ship. Gulltop was the first one...))

Idun: If we cloaked at this moment then the dragons will cast a spell that will effectively nullify the cloaking. The fire that they breath is hard to explain. One hit won't spell harm us, however multiply hits will.

Heimdall is currently exploiting the dragons weaknesses, and the only thing we can do is sit here.

Marin: I thought that the dragons were not magic...

Guy: Spell doesn't necessarily mean magic. The term was often used in ancient times, and here, for things that people do not understand. *to Idun* If worst comes to worst, we can use my ship's warp drive to leave while still in-atmosphere...

Raschel: Wait. Heimdall's exploiting the dragon's weaknesses? Didn't you just say it couldn't be stopped?

*Hal's fighter races towards the Asgardried.*

Hal: Can you give me more power?

Chip Tweee-da.

Hal: The After Burner? Ok, hope it does burn out on us.

*Hal flips up a cover and toggles four red switches, then hits a red button on his throttle control.*

*The whine of the engine turns to a deafening roar and the fighter tripples in speed.*

Idun: Spell like the name dragon is vey common. There was a planet where women would cast spells. However they didn't use magic but the force. They still called what they did spells.

Your offer shouldn't be necessary. Heimdall has things well in control.

The dragons are powerful but do have weakness that can be used against them. It won't stop them but it will protect us. Example, at dawn and dusk dragons bascially become blind. As you can see Heimdall is closing in on dawn.

Soon the dragons will lose sight of us and when they do we can safely cloak and slip away. Futhermore they are used to losing prey at these times. They should wait for us in that area, assuming that we are hide ourselves. They will also wait for a long time. As long as we remain cloaked after that point we should be safe.

------------------------------------------

*Perched on top of a tall building the Dragon Goin sits looking down at coruscant. Randomly shooting balls of flame at fleeing pedestrians. When something caught his eye.

With a leap Goin is airborn and is in pursuit of Hal's fighter. A ball of fire passes over the top of Hal's fighter. Goin loved to frighten it's prey before the kill*

((OOS: Reign of Fire was quite good, except the ending could have been alot better. Just IMHO ;)))

Misae: Leaving them to massacre whoever happens to come near them once the sun rises? *low voice* Of course that would be your plan.

Guy: *to Idun* These creatures aren't exactly normal denizens of this planet. They didn't come from here, in any case. And unlike the other creatures we've encountered, these dragon's aren't magically attracted to us... I suspect you would know more about this than I, but if some other intelligence let them know to come after us here, then couldn't that intelligence let them know what happened to us when we leave? In theory.

[it wasn't the best movie I ever saw, but it made a good distraction for an afternoon]

*Orthos checks the map*

"That means we'll get to Darkstar Tower as well, and there we can find the next piece of the puzzle! It's right on the route...I just hope they don't want to go there..."

((Well I believe it should have been longer ^_^

but then yet again they did have a small budget...))

RH Irvine: "Yet there is still this one question, why would a person like Syrnl ever had the need or disire to create such creatures?"

*Idun looks at RH Irvine wondering how stupid he must be.*

Idun: Did you listen to a word that I said? Syrnl has nothing and I repeat nothing to do with these dragons.

And Misea, do not know these creatures. They will not massacre people when they are hunting. They are hunting us and when we disappear they will continue to hunt us. They will wait hoping to make us think that it is safe to come out and when we do they will pounce.

Now you do not create the air of safety when you are killing people left and right.

*The balls of fire shooting past the ship become fewer and fewer as the dragons begin to lose their sight in the dawn sun. Soon they stop outright. Heimdall slows and cloaks the Asgardried and head towards the towers*

------------------------------------------------

*As Goin began to lose his sight he shoots one last ball of fire nailing one of the X-wings' S Foils*

*The fighter's shields fail and the fireball burns through the wing. The first third of the s-foil vaporises, taking with it the thuster control jets. The fighter lurches and goes into ballistic spin. Hal curses, pulls at his sword and pack and then pulls both ejection levers. The bolts on the canopy blow and he and chip rocket out.*

*Hal pulls his rip cord and takes out his comlink.* Hey, Heimdall, come pick us up, please.

RH Irvine: *calmly* "Since when have I killed? The only things I've killed today where my damn friends! They weren't exactly my friends anymore seening is that I had to kill them, or else they'd kill me... Frankly I feel a little peachy right now, even if I was a cold hearted killer, which I sorta feel like it do, I actually don't think that I can take another round of killing. That is if I was a cold hearted killer, which I'm not."

WH Irvine: *Stares* "Shut up Irvy."

((Also about Syrnl: if RH Irvine knew anything about Syrnl whatsoever he would know the answer to that question. Although it doesn't matter because, like Admiral said, Idun already clearly corrected Orthos' mistaken assumption...

BD, if you don't intend Hal to be actually dead dead then say so and I'll edit ;)

edit: Er, see above.))

*Everyone stares at RH Irvine*

Marin: She wasn't talking about you.

*Misae looks ready to make another antagonizing comment, but shuts up*

*Guy looks at Idun wondering why she wasn't answering*

*Orthos looks out of the window to see the X-Wing plummeting down. In his chest anger builds up. He takes Starkiller and attaches a harness to himself and opens the ship's hatch*

"All right you draconic filth! Bring it! Just bring it and I'll show you what millenia of power can do to you!"
