Or just, like....you know.... STOP SPAMMING!?

What's the deal anyway? You get 1$ of every new thread you start and 0.1$ per pointless reply assuming it is filled with typos and lacks coherence?

Jesus... relax. The world will not come to an end if you don't think of a new thread every 5 minutes!

How about YOU calm down? He is improving, and you yelling isn't helping him any, so leave him alone.

As for Lott stepping down, I have no clue about it. How about a link to the news story? ;)

I have calmed down. As I said in the thread I started (which was lame but, thank god, seemed to serve it's purpose) :

I'm all done. Case closed.

I'm usually not the first one to react on these sort of things...or even the 20th. But at some point...enough is enough.

When a person is asked nicely to stop spamming numerous times and he replies to each and every one of those post (in order to get his post-count up) by saying something like: "im sorry wont do it again thanks", just to continue double posting or whatever in the same thread it starts to get on my nerves.

Anyways; I'm not a mod here and it is not my place to judge what goes and what doesn't. I've said what I thought had to be said and if I traumatized someone in the process I'm deeply sorry.

No hard feelings. Case closed.

For now. :p

This issue seems hard to bury.

Very well.

No. I do not think he is from another country. And if HE ( proof:

hell no i got a piece of that ass before u hit it trust me on that one but she is hot as a bitch
is - so what?

I'm not english. Still, I don't *have* to make a gazillion pointless threads and spam like there's no tomorrow. Clearly he has dyslexia or does not take a second to see what he writes, because even the topics of his threads are filled with typos (take this one f.ex)

Now I have promised to let this issue go, but I will not sit and listen to flaming. I have, as have numerous others, nicely asked him to take it easy on the spamming, but to no effect.

Take a thread like:

http://www.lucasforums.com/showthread.php?s=&postid=960779#post960779

which you are already familiar with and tell me I was way out of line and this is all just a misunderstanding...?

I'm not a rude guy, but at some point I tire to crap like this. I'm aware of the fact that we got girls and boys and old people and young children here, but despite of that when others try to Help and Guide you, you really should pay attention.

Right now I'm like the guy who finally stands up and yells at the little kids who keep throwing rocks at me and get barked at by the kiddies mommy 'cause I made them cry.

Well...gee...my bad, here's a few big pretty rocks...go ahead and throw them in my face, I'm so sorry for yelling at you.

Oh well. Merry Christmas 'n stuff to you all. :)

next time vegietto when you make a thread, present your topic with sophistication. think more clearly before you say something. you sound like a 5 year old trying to explain things to us.

and about senator lott i think it was good the he steped down from the committy. i mean the US stands for justice/equality and having somebody who believes in segregation, represents us is wrong. we live in a civilized country where everybody should be treated fairly and equally.

Anyway, back on topic...

Senator Lott (incoming Senate Majority Leader for the Republican-controlled Senate) made a statement that a lot of people interpreted as being racist. He said to the effect of, had America elected Strom Thurmond in the Election of 1948, America wouldn't have many of the problems it has today. If you weren't aware, Thurmond is the 100 year old Senator who recently retired after years of dedication to the Senate. He's extremely conservative, and some people claim he's a racist, which isn't hard to understand, as in 1948 (the election Lott was referring to), he ran on a strong segregationist platform for the Dixiecrats. So people besically interpreted the comment as being racist as he was in efect supporting a segregationist platform.

Personally, I think it was an extremely stupid thing to say. Whether or not it was racist is hard to tell, but considering he's made similar remarks in the past and he's consistently voted against civil rights bills, I don't think it's excusable. A man with those views really shouldnt be one of the most powerful leaders of a party that's trying to shake off any racist viewpoints it has. He'll be staying as a Mississippi Senator (which is good for the GOP, because the Democratic Governor would definitely appoint a Democratic Senator to replace him should he resign).

I have no idea whatsoever what you are talking about, but anyway:

In sweden some guys (media?) went "undercover", wearing a wire, to talk to some of the politicians..you know, in bars 'n stuff.

The results were interesting. And it was fun to watch the live interview between a representative of the press and these politicians:

(edit- Gonk- some people were offended.... so i deleted your stuff. sorry man. try and tone down on the racial slurs and baggins, even if they are quotes....)

I think that Lott saying that was extremly stupid. Was he put on the stage at the last minute?

Well OnlyOneCanoli gave a good explanation but let me give you another one.

Trent Lott (Republican) is the Majority leader in the Senate here in the United States.

The Senate I think was throwing Strom Thurmond a party for being in the Senate for so long. He's 100 like OnlyOneCanoli said and has been in office longer than anyone else has before in the Senate. He is retiring in 2003 Febuary. It was like a Dean Martin Celebrity Roast where you go up and say something about the person (Who in this case was Strom Thurmond) without the laughter and embaressment. Lott was up and said that if Stom Thurmond was elected back in 1948 that America would be very diffrent. His views back then were that he still wanted Segregation of Blacks and Whites. Many people took this as if Lott was saying that he wanted Segregation now and supported it. Lott was also known to have Segregation views as well.

Many people have been asking for his resignation as Republican Majority leader. He has said that he has a lot of support but no one is making public. The President has not supported him in public but is just keeping quiet. He obviously just wants to avoid affilation with him so that it doesn't damage his reputation or campaign.

Lott has been said to resigned so that they would not have to vote him out. He didn't want to be voted out so he just gave up the position.

He had to be not thinking straighly when he said. He should of known that someone in such a high position as him should of watched what he said because it would of been disected by the media. Next time when you speak you should of think of what consequences you might have for what you say.

I was glad to see that he resigned. At least he was able to see what he did wrong and do his best to correct it before he made the Republican party look completely stupid.

Also, there is a chance that he might resign from the Senate entirely. If that happens, the Republicans will no longer control the Senate. There will be an equal number of Democrats and Republicans.
