Jabba The Hunt Posted January 4, 2003 Posted January 4, 2003 Just imagine if the Seti@home threads where still going It might lead to a higher quality of threads as people want to post a thread that others are going to post more replies to. Of course if you want someone to get less points you could just not reply to them... Im happy that my really old crappy custom name has now gone, I like having the default stuff, although I think eventually everyone will have all the stuff so it wont make much difference.
edlib Posted January 4, 2003 Posted January 4, 2003 *(I don't know why I'm posting this in this thread, seems as good a place as any. And this certainly doesn't warrant a new thread. Just a couple of odd observations I happened to make, under somewhat unique circumstances. A bit of a non-sequitur, but something I just had to say before I forget...)* 2 things just struck me out of the blue: A. - Niner has had his current avatar the longest of all the ones he's ever had. And... B. - It (Nine's avatar) kinda reminds me of Barbara Striesand. (The nose is different, but otherwise...) Probably the only reason this occurred to me now is that I spent part of the day today, (now that my PC is working properly) making copies of ALL my mother's Striesand CDs for my aunt. And my mom has a LOT of them. I've been looking at Bab's face on her CD covers all afternoon (and BELIEVE me, her face appears on every single damn one of those covers!) When it struck me I was reading this thread and started laughing out loud. I had to post it somewhere. Here seemed good. Thank you, that is all. You may return to your regularly scheduled topic.
Rogue Nine Posted January 4, 2003 Posted January 4, 2003 I can kinda see the resemblance, ed. Not much, but it's there. I was never a big fan of Babs anyway. I like this avvie a lot. It's taken from conceptual art for the sequel to the RPG Final Fantasy X. You should really see the original pic from which I took it from. This is one of the better avs I've made and it never gets old on the eyes (mine at least), so why change it?
Rogue Nine Posted January 5, 2003 Posted January 5, 2003 Right you are, Taark. Her outfit is drastically modified from her FFX incarnation. Yuna's is also, but not as...much as Rikku's.
Taarkin Posted January 5, 2003 Posted January 5, 2003 Ok, I just saw the rest of the picture. Do they have to arbitrarily make everyone look slutty? Also, dosen't the thing on her head look like a pair of blue underpants?
Rogue Nine Posted January 5, 2003 Posted January 5, 2003 Apparently so. I'm not too pleased with the way they dressed her; they make her seem like she's going to the beach instead of roving the world, fighting monsters, but hopefully the gameplay and the storyline will make up for that.
Jabba The Hunt Posted January 5, 2003 Posted January 5, 2003 its amazing how quickly a thread can go off topic... sorry just I thought, doesnt anyone else think that FF X is going a bit far?, come on the same thing again and again, even the goldeneye/perfect dark games (including timesplitters 1 & 2) has now gotten boring.

FF, yes. The others, no. And lumping the TimeSplitters games in with Goldeneye/Perfect Dark isn't really fair anyway.
Jem Posted January 6, 2003 Posted January 6, 2003 It's communism, propaganda to encourage us to post more.
Nitro Posted January 6, 2003 Posted January 6, 2003 Bruce Almighty... I've seen that preview a ****load of times going to see TTT over and over and over again.

Nitro Posted January 7, 2003 Posted January 7, 2003 Ya know, JR... Your avatar reminds me of Vanilla Ice.

Timespliiters is so obviously the same, its made by the same people (under a different name) as the same options screens and plays pretty similarly aswell. Except for the Graphics Pefect Dark was the best one out of the four.
Keyan Farlander Posted January 7, 2003 Posted January 7, 2003 TimeSplitters 2 is quite different from Perfect Dark. It is a much less realistic, more arcade-like game. If I didn't know that a lot of the same people worked on both, I would never figure it out just by playing them.
