Jaws
Did you know the backgrounds for Monkey Island 2 , where scanned hand painted pics ? I didn't ....
ThunderPeel2001
Is this a poll? How do I vote "yes"? There was some of the original Steve Purcell artwork on LucasArt's website... I wish they'd release more! They were sort of messed around with too after they were scanned in I think (but only slightly to make them clearer at a lower resolution). ~ Johnny
Jaws
Yeah they should show more original artwork ...... the timeline artwork on the site only has 25 or so pictures , and only two\three of them are of monkey island ....

Jaws
So your drawing pixels for the background ?
Swordmaster
Yes, I knew this because I scanned in those two pics at The Scumm Bar. A bit of LucasArts trivia: although Fate of Atlantis was published after Monkey Island 2, FOA still used the 'old-fashioned' way of creating backgrounds pixel by pixel. MI2 was more advanced in this field, even though we got to play it first.
ThunderPeel2001
Yep, I think someone thought doing it the "old fashioned way" was probably a really good idea. I beg to differ (although some of MI2's backgrounds needed more clarity I think!) ~ Johnny
