Lord Glorfindel
Has anyone in this forum, besides me, read JRR Tolkien's book the Silmarillion (which I consider to be his best work)?

Luc Solar
I've read it. Great book..if you like that sort of stuff. The only book by Tolkien that I haven't read (multiple times) is that one silly book pf poems/songs. Tom Bombadil's? I don't know...
BCanr2d2
Considering The Silmarillion isn't a completely finished book, it is still a good read. It seems to have plenty of wide spread stories to help fill in some of the missing pieces. Unfinished Tales seems to have a bit bigger spread over more ages as well.. Rogue Nine
I plowed through that book in about two weeks. Man, that thing was a tough read. I normally read books of that length within three or so days, but that one takes a while to read, simply because it's so detailed and there's a lot of material to get through. BigTeddyPaul
I read it. Did I understand anything? Not really. One tough cookie to follow. BigTeddyPaul
Darth Slayne
I read it myself years ago. A very tough book to get through. I don't think many of these "New age" LOTR fans would enjoy it much but I could be wrong. I think its one of those books that only a dedicated fan is likely to enjoy. X R Kun
I read it and it was tough with all the Valar and the Maiar names to follow but nonetheless, very good book. For every elf lovers
Walwi Makno
Great book! I've read it several times. Unfinished Tales is also good. The first read was tough and a little hard to follow. But as I became more interested in The Lord of the Rings, I gave it another read. Second time was much easier to follow and understand. Now I can rattle off a whole summary of book to anybody foolish enough to ask .
