Wraith 8
well my dear Devil Doll. You need the following things: 1. Name: You make up your own and once the game is out you can type it in. Or you can wait untill the game and there will be a Name generator there who will when you click it make a name for you. 2. Species: Since your a girl, i think you wouldnt be happy and play a gut . so ill give you a list of all specie available in game: from left to right: Mon Calamari: Mon Calamari are a race of fishlike humanoids from the planet of the same name. Their planet is almost entirely covered in water, thusly Mon Calamari have developed the ability to breath underwater for long periods of time without any artificial respiration. Rodian: Rodian's are humanoids with several distinct reptilian features. They are from the planet Rodia in the Tyrius system. Many Rodians tend to be shunned by society in general, as they have a very strong smell, thusly a lot of Rodians tend to take on the role of smugglers and bounty hunters. Wookiee: Wookiees are strong, tall, and loyal beings from the planet Kashyyyk. They are shaggy aliens, and have long, sharp claws they use for climbing the huge Wroshyr trees of their homeworld. Chewbacca, Han Solo's sidekick, is a wookiee. Bothan: Bothans are a species of small, agile humanoids who hail from Bothawui. They control an extensive spy-net and were invaluable in locating the 2nd Death Star. Twi’lek: (lying in frony of them all) Twi'leks are humanoid beings from the planet of Ryloth. One of the distinct features that separate Twi'leks from other species is their two long "brain-tails," or lekku. Twi'leks tend to be more intelligent then other species, and some are nearly as honour-bound as Wookies. [Thanks to Seaber for pointing out an error in this entry.] Tradoshan: Tradoshans are reptilian, like the Rodians, but tend to be alot larger. They come from the plant Trando. Tradoshans tend to hate Wookies for some reason. Bossk, a Bounty Hunter seen in The Empire Strikes Back, was a Tradoshan. Zabrak: Not much is known about Zabrak. They are a humanoid species with small, protruding horns growing from the tops of their heads. Many Zabrak paint their bodies with elaborate tattoos. Zabrak tend to have amazing mental ability. Darth Maul was a Zabrak. Human: Humans are the dominate species in the galaxy. They look like... humans. Look in a mirror - That's a human (hopefully!) Humans come from many of the Galaxy's planets - Corellia, Alderaan, Chandrilla, and Naboo are some examples. Humans are really the run-of-the-mill species, with average abilities in almost everything. They are the standard by which other species are judged. 3. Profession: (Job) Star Wars Galaxies will include 25 unique professions. Stay tuned in the months to come as we reveal them. Note that certain professions are considered "Elite" and will not be available to starting characters. setsuko
That's what you need to make a character yes. But why stop there? Start writing a background for your character. Figure out what he/she likes and dislikes. There's a lot of easy theater methods to help you. What is important is that you decide how complex your character should be. Is it only a simple mask, that means; "I am a gamorrean named Gurk. I kill stuff with axe" or "I am a beautiful yet deadly bounty hunter"? Or is supposed to be something more like a real person? If you are that ambitious, the process never stops. Then you are roleplaying. The easiest way to learn how to roleplay is to learn how to play theater. Same thing. How hard it is? It can be anything from simple improvisation to The Stanislavski System. If you need help, I will gladly help you. But then I need to know if you want to create a character, or create a believable, living character. Sure, it might sound awfully daunting, but it makes playing so much more fun! setsuko
Good to hear, Devil Doll. It's hard to know when someone is asking how to make chars, if they are "Is it like Diablo?" or "How will I keep my background interesting and interwoven with my roleplaying, while at the same time give a good reason why her stats will suck at the beginning?" Myself, I also love theater, and quite often play amateur theater. Good to see a serious RPer around, hope to meet you ingame!
Corpocus
I do amateur theater too. I play Live Action RPG games..I do one called Laire in NJ USA. Its like amateur theater. At least thats what I tell people when I walk into a Burger King with Dark Elf make up, snow white hair and all black Midevil clothes..oh and a sword made of foam and duct tape.. Jared Sinn
What the hell? how was I spamming? Explain that to me please.. JS
setsuko
Writing a post with noting but "Roflmao" is spam, though in my book one of the milder forms of spam. This reply was also close to the spam limit. But then, I'm evil and you're not, so I'm allowed to do these things!
Jared Sinn
Well, I certainly dont intend to break the rules, such that they are. Next time, I'll simply write something like "I've found your post to be delightfully entertaining, and I wholeheratedly agree with you as I sit here in front of my computer laughing out loud and slapping my knee" On second thought, that would be stupid. I'll simply post nothing at all. I guess what anoyed me was that I had no idea that it was considered "spamming" to do that, because it's not on other boards I post on. Perhaps, Wraith, I could get an explanation along with the slap on the hand if I ever brak a rule in the future. BTW, Tks for the explanation set JS
setsuko
No problem, as you might have noticed, you'll have to make bigger mistakes than that to get in trouble on this board. As we say here in Sweden "one time is no time, but two times are two too many!".
Lord Helmet
do you actually say that in sweden?....and in what language ?
Jan Gaarni
Well, don't worry about it, JS. I think it's cause you have such a low postcount. When you get over 1000, or close to it, you may get alittle freer reins concerning these things. At that point you've "leveled up your account" so to speak. Nothing more to reach for. Unless you are going to try and catch up with Redwing. :D Though, I think spam warnings in these cases shouldn't be so strict. When we get 3, or 4, or 5, 6, 7, 8 replies saying ROFL, THEN i'd say it would be time to step in. I'll take it up with Wraith, see what he thinks. But he's only following rules. And such a fine upholder off the rules he is.
Jared Sinn
Thank you, Jan, nice of you to offer to do so. Oh geez, I'm spamming. Wait! I'm off topic too!! Oh god! (I'll not post on the issue again ) JS
Devil Doll
Ok, please I don´t want any spam problem in My Thread!! I don´t use to start threads cause I always don´t have anything good to say, that´s the reason i always reply and that´s all beleive set, I´m happy to see that you like Amateru theatre and things like that, here in my house I´m like a freak cause i´m the only one who likes theatre, my mother also likes it but not a lot like me, they think im weird when they saw me buying stanislavski books, that help me a lot with live action role plays, maybe writing in a rpg I´m not good, but I prefer to act

Does it change the way you play? Also can you please explain this game to me. Like what happens after you create your character can you chose what side you want to be on right fter you create your character. I mean do you just start on a planet and then can freeroam to where you want to? Last can you be a bounty hunter? I love bounty hunters. THANK YOU FOR ALL REPLIES! Peace out! Sunshine Badass
Crazy!!! You're registered in March 2003 when your post was in the beginning of February... Maybe you don't have to register to these boards to post... I don't remember. To make a successful character, here are some "LATE" points to think about 1.) What are your characters goals - What do they hope to accomplish in their life and over the course of their travels? 2.) Make a character that avoids spamming so that the Mods don't get mad and send an intricately wrapped slap on the wrist as soon as you peel the lid off that shiny Prosthetic meat can.
