Jan Gaarni
Well, basically, if you look at the top of almost every General Forum section of the SWG board, you will notice an Announcment thread on the top. In there it will direct you to the Read This First thread by Wraith 8 (which you can also find in almost all the General Forums section) where I have added a small FAQ on the Store not so long ago. To the Avatar question .... yes, go to your profile (the button on top to the left saying User CP) and then click Edit Options. At the bottom there you will find the Avatar selection. Good Luck
setsuko
Well, I was thinking over these meeting thingys (I promise!), and the public vs leader meetings mentioned by Sunshine made me come up with these thoughts. Most meetings that involves all parts of the PA will propably be between the leaders. That is because they are those who is supposed to know what each group's situation is. And they can put forward the thoughts and opinion of their members (indirect democracy). Then, there are meetings that mostly affect one group. These will propably be more common, and these could be made up by all available members of the group (direct democracy). This is because 40+ members at an important meeting gets very messy. While 10+ member meetings are easier. This could give room for our members to attend to a lot of meetings, while still maintain something remotely similar to efficiency. On the other hand, non-leaders can attend the leader meetings if they ask for it nicely, or if their information is valuable. This has worked before. Sunshine Badass
RAH! Annoying pop-ups... I am not old enough to gamble. Anyways, I plan to be a swordsperson/Spy/Healer and was wondering if the PA had any applicable use for a spy. My character may then have some "valuable" info from the galaxy to report to the PA and thus possibly influence the meetings decision with more info from whatever/whomever I was sent to spy on. So my main question is: DO WE NEED A SPY?/Healer
Thew Rydur
Yeah, I like the idea of group meetings. That way they could focus on their group and bring up anything about the PA as a whole. Then the group leader could take ideas to the leaders meeting. And about the spy thing, you can be whatever you like as long you put your mind to it . Sunshine Badass
Yeah, I CAN be whatever I want, but my question was: Is there any logical or applicable usage for a spy in the The Associates?
setsuko
Well, most importantly, everyone in the commerce group will havet some opinion and knowledge about the issues that a group meeting of the commerce group would bring up, while they might not be so interested/knowledgeable about PAtoPA diplomacy, intergoup cooperation and rules adjustments (which is some of the things a leader meeting could be about) Well, sunshinebadass, my group could use some general info on other PAs if we ever encounter a PA war, and we could use scouting information for interesting places to send hunting operations to. That's the use of a spy I can come up with.
Sunshine Badass
Yay! Then I will be a Swordsperson/Spy/Healer under your command Setsuko. Lead me, oh, Great One Of The Holy Rake!!! I will find great info on other PA's and their aggression levels for tresspassing! ;)Oh, will I tresspass for first hand knowledge of their ability to stop us... Wraith 8
@ Sunshine: I agree that most meetings should be IC. BUT! A lot of our members (inculding myself) are not familiar with MMORPG and some of us (NOT including me) never played a Role playing game before. not even text based. Now i think that for a lot of people, IC will be quite difficult to master. in time they will figure it out tho. About the meetings in numbers. i have to agree with setsuko. full scale member meetings could be fun, but it has 2 disadvantages: 1. People in our PA live around the globe 2. Such a meeting is uncontolable. I would love a full scale meeting... but like i said.. will never happen
Sunshine Badass
Actually, I don't have ANY MMO experience at all... Except for Diablo 2... But that doesn't count does it? So I am just as new to this as you are... But I am a good improvisationalist, so I should be able to "bluff" my way into this and appear to be a seasoned master, like some of you here are. And make my character come alive. I will have to tinker around with the game when I start out to see what I am capable of.
Wraith 8
ok but lets just say.. that you cant expect all members to be as good as you hope they will be give them time to get it

That is where those who has roleplaying experience (myself included) has a responsibility. Because it is much easier to RP if other, more seasoned veterans, are RPing all around you. Gaalgoth
That's right Set, it's much easier to RP with others RPing around you. Besides, it's really not that hard....just make believe. We were all kids once.
