Frosty_V2.1 Posted February 1, 2003 Posted February 1, 2003 I think I read that preview today as well, that shot with the rancor looks kinda funny with the guy running toward it, like he's going to offer himself for breakfast The lightsabers look like they have 2 core colours, rather than the prequel style solid white core and glow, u can really see this with those shots of the green lightsaber, maybe it's just because of the background that makes it look like that?

covenant_bad Posted February 1, 2003 Posted February 1, 2003 I couldnt help noticing the overbrightening used is really quite a new thing for games technology and really gives a sense of depth. And looking at it from an animators view, it has allowed Bioware to use gorgeous changes in colour and contrast to make breathtaking images and environments. I mean i was watching a preview on some weird digital channel on TV, which is about games and they showed how the planets sun really is extremely bright on the screen if you look at it, which seems really cool and realistic. I CANT WAIT!!!!

The new style: And the old style: Much better than the cut-off flat ended sabers we have seen in the last few screenshots. I think that maybe the new ones were some tests of a lightsaber that is optimized for blaster deflection. Just an opinion. What are your thoughts on this?

The first one is brand spanking new......a result of the hardwork and discussions about the second pic you have. The second one is probably the first screenshot I ever saw of Kotor.....many months ago, like back in June I think. They have refined them and listened to people like us. So yeah, you can definitely tell the difference..

Thrift Posted February 2, 2003 Posted February 2, 2003 Might I suggest that the screenshots probably look different because in one photo both lightsabres are in fast motion and in the other they are (at least relatively I suspect) still. They also probably look different because of night/day. I've seen this twi'lek before on several screenshots, and for some reason always assumed that she was a fellow Jedi... 'tho I'm beginning to doubt it. Not much as been released about her, right? I think I remember from ages ago (when she was first in the background of a much earlier screenshot {even before that night shot of Bastilla on Kashyyyk I think}) someone in the official forums (??) asked who she was, and she is apparently a (former?) Sith Master. (Least I think that's right...Hannibal, Com?) Kool huh? Kashyyyk has 3 y's eh? Who'd have thunk it?

They spoke of a teenage Twilek girl but then wouldn't specify what her "specialty" was. From the text in one of the screenshots of the NPC asking for a security spike, I think she may be an expert at breaking security systems.
