Darth Groovy
I'm refering to the original Janet Lee classic, not the remake with Anne Hesche. I never even bothered to watch that one. To me that's like trying to remake Jaws... why bother?! Eggplant, if your refering to the original House on Haunted Hill, that was some scary stuff mate. Too much CGI has ruinded recent horror flicks. Thank goodness for M Kight Shamalyaman.
Remi
The original House on the Haunted Hill is a classic - Vincent Price is great in it. I haven't even bothered trying to watch the remake. It just looks sad.
Darth Eggplant
I am talking about both in the remake Geoffry Rush is cool. now it is kind of a horror film of sortss with Geoffry Rush, Quillsthat was a great movie and older a comedy not a horror was Rossencrantz and Gildenstern Are Dead classic movie, great fun for lovers of Hamlet. Another great Price movie Poe's Masque of the Red death and the book the SHinning with the Hedge monsters that would have been cool on screen. another great movie is Franken WeinnieTim Burton and Franken Hooker director who knows??? and a great Troma film was Rabid Grannies also saw directors cut ofHellraiser oh and I saw a special FX doccumentary on the guy who did and won two oscars fro Logans Run and I thought of you Groovy. there are lots and lots and tons of films worth mentioning anything by Hitchcock for sure. and Darth I have to disagree with you; any movie wityh Anne Hesche in it extremely scarry. stupid horror movies I have seen lately John Carpenters Ghosts of Mars and Resident Evil. Taos
I'm with Eggplant, I enjoyed the new House on Haunted Hill. I went to see it in theater with a bunch of friends and I had no idea what it was going to be like. I also like the Scream movies...all three of them, so they were basically parodies of scary movies but who cares. I still liked them! The Exorcist is also pretty damn scary in my book.....=/
Darth Eggplant
I saw Scream 2 trouble is I never saw the others and the trailer for Scream 2 at the time was Dark City *also we went to see the movie after smoking the evil bone, so I was very impressed with the Dark City trailer and I found Scream 2 okay but hollywood horror movie predictable.* now a really scarry movie is seeing Kathy Bates naked and covered in mud in At Play In The Field Of The Lord. and Francis Ford Copala's Dracula Garry Oldman and Tom Waits ruled in that movie! so did Richard E Grant, and I did not mind the actress who played Lucy either. and yes oh yes oh yes! Gary oldman is playing Sirus Black in Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban!!!!!!
Darth Groovy
Actually King directed his own version of The Shinning and realeased it as a miniseries on TNT, complete with the evil shrubery. Trust me, it was NOT cool. Hate to say it, Kubricks' verision was scarier. You forgot to mention Tales From The Wax Museum, and Horror Express, was pretty scary in it's own unique Peter Kushing/Christopher Lee, kind of way. And look for a young Telly Savallas in that same film. Also, thought it was a bad movie, there were parts of The Amityville Horror that made me jump like a school girl. I agree 100% with you on Bram Stoker's Dracula. That was the best version ever. It would have been perfect had they not cast Keanea Reeves and Winona (sticky fingers) Ryder in such important roles. Oldman should have at least been nominated for an oscar in that role.
Darth Eggplant
Gary Oldman has been cast as Sirus Black in the upcoming Harry Potter movie and if they have not cast the part of Professor Lupin yet, they should give the role to Pter O'Toole and Christopher Lee has the record in the industry moree than 300 movies to his name, Ian McKellar (Gandalf) only has 60 odd movies. Vincent Price Peter Cushing Christopher Lee RULE!
Darth Groovy
Those Harry Potter Movies are getting better by the minute. I have not seen the new one yet. I loved the first one. Peter O' Toole, I think, should actually take over the part of Dumbledore from Richard Harris. Another fantastic Villian that gets overlooked is Doug Bradley, the guy that played Pinhead in the Hellraiser films.
