Khier Posted February 19, 2003 Posted February 19, 2003 I want to replace the sounds from a skin, and I downloaded this .mp3 .wav convertor thing, for some reason it wouldn't convert and I think it's because when I try to play the .wav from double clicking it I get an error message "sound information is in a bad or damaged format", any way I can repair it? The .wav is from Ice Wind Dale II, and it works fine when I'm playing IWDII
ksk h2o Posted February 19, 2003 Posted February 19, 2003 What is your default program for handling .wav file formats? Can you play any of the other wav files from icewind dale, outside of the game (with any media player).
Khier Posted February 19, 2003 Author Posted February 19, 2003 My default program for handling wav files? Well I haven't really handled wav files before so I don't know And the wavs don't appear to play on any media players since I tried it on three different players
KMan Posted February 20, 2003 Posted February 20, 2003 I'd recommend getting Goldwave. Either google it, or I think it's actually at http://www.goldwave.com Anyways, it's a great, inexpensive proggy. Easy to use, and should get you what you are trying to accomplish.
Khier Posted February 21, 2003 Author Posted February 21, 2003 nope, that one doesn't work either, I've tried it, all the programs I've used all say it's corrupted or in bad format or whatever, and I am getting frustrated
Hekx Posted February 21, 2003 Posted February 21, 2003 You could try recording the sounds from the game via microphone or lead, that seems the only way to get them to work. The WAV file might be encoded differently for the game to read..
