Burrie
And play up on Corran's ego even more... (I like Corran Horn, but a bit too much of a superhero whenever Stackpole writes him, IN MY PERSONAL OPINION) Quite frankly, I wouldn't know wether RPGs based on existing EU could work very well... after all, most of the story has already been decided and such, and every surprise has been revealed. Sure, they could add subplots or change parts of the game, but there won't be any real surprise. Of course, branching plotlines could be an option, but still... I prefer an RPG with a totally new storyline rather that it's based off an existing one. I liked the Episode I game, basically because I liked redoing several parts of the film, but I enjoy games with new storylines more.
Notion
This is the perfect time-frame to do an RPG in SW. The only thing that would be better is maybe post-NJO. That would be cool to see Han or Luke somewhere as an easter egg. YOu know, a familiar timeframe.
covenant_bad
I think setting KOTOR when it is, allows Bioware to stretch the linsences and create new cooler characters that have not previously been seen. I certainly think that this time period is much more appropriate for Jedi wannabes as if it was post-ROTJ there would be a very limited number of ways the story could go, e.g getting rid of the last imps, joining the jedi academy. And anything else remotely interesting like fighting the reborn emporer is all EU and wouldn't be used. So im happy the choice bioware made and look forward to it. Hannibal
Another good reason for setting the game in a different time period is the voice overs. We don't have to hear some crappy Obi-Wan that doesnt sound like Obi-wan(ala the XBox Obi-Wan game.) Man that guy was all nasally(is that a word?). covenant_bad
The Obiwan on the Xbox game sounded like someone had shoved a broom up his backside and blocked his nose.

Swat
I disagree, we already have Jedi Outcast and such. i hate the way they designed lightsaber combat, u can't wield the lightsaber any direction other than up down while standing still! hope they solve that in jkIII
Thrift
We don't have to hear some crappy Obi-Wan that doesnt sound like Obi-wan(ala the XBox Obi-Wan game.) Oh my god, amen to that!! Yeah I will support that one 100% I assumed it was a young Sean Connery trying to do Ewan McGregor’s version of Alec Guiness.
