Lujayne
Firstly, let me tell you about my printer: it's a Lexmark 3200, bought in 1998 (that's 5 years ago, for those of you who don't like math). When we first got it it printed like a dream, with super-high-quality, beautiful-many-coloured-photo-quality pictures. Now it just downright sucks. Usually one or more of the colours isn't working, and there are *always* lines through the image, aout every quarter-centimeter. It sucks. It sucks it sucks it sucks. I've been telling my dad that we need to get a new printer, because this one has, most clearly, died. But he assures me that this can't be, that it's the cartridges that are the problem, not the printer. Since you're replacing the printer-heads each time you replace the cartridge (this is true, as far as I know), then it can't be the printer that's the problem. I said there's no way that we got 4 bad cartridges in a row, especially when we didn't get any within the first few years of owning it... -_- Basically I'm just looking for people to agree with me that printers lose their quality over time, so I can show this to him and he'll have to buy a new one. n_n What do you guys think?? How much does my printer suck? How long can you own one before it starts to suck? Thanks. ^_^ ~L.
Skate Boy
Well, we got our Printer in like '99, and not to long ago we had to give up and buy a new one. Ours had the same problems that your's has. I think you need to buy a new one soon. It's worth it.
Rogue Nine
I hate printers. I loathe them. They really do need to be replaced after a few years. I think it has to do with the wearing down of the moving mechanism. The fact that it has such a thing makes it more prone to wear than any other computer peripheral. *phoenix*
i personally think a single ham sandwich is more practical than 2 scanners and one brand new printer. More delicious as well!
