SpaceMonkey1315 Posted March 17, 2003 Share Posted March 17, 2003 I read in the valley of the jedi forum that somebody suggested another X-Wing game. I started playing X-wing Alliance again about a week ago, and I think he may be on to something. Lucasarts always did have great flight sims, and with new technology, they wouldnt necessaraly be confined to outer space (which they do well) but have something like the gameplay of X-Wing Alliance. They made that game perfect, because they had a story line (which was functional, and allowed you not only to fly in different crafts than fighter wings) and a great "jump in and fight" mode. I can understand perfectly why a new X-wing game would fit in nicely, but what other kind of things would be useful in a new game like that. Anybody else think this is a good idea? Emkay, you, and her can go off in the Otana and search for Antan while Emon flys alongside of you in the Andrassta (and we all know what that baby can do now that we've seen AotC!!!) SpaceMonkey1315 Posted March 17, 2003 Author Share Posted March 17, 2003 that may lead to one problem though...the game ends after the battle of endor, after the second death star is destroyed, and you go to kessel fast, but they arent there...however, the problem is, do you take new-republic affairs that happened in the books, or should they just make up a new storyline that was never published...and I also think it wouldbe great if you gave Olin Garn a corrillian ship like the otana, maybe a new model, and had him track along with you guys, since your almost family anyhow...I'd buy it Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

SpaceMonkey1315 Posted March 17, 2003 Author Share Posted March 17, 2003 yes, that was something like 3 days after the formation of the new republic, so i guess you can take a little, make a little...like them borrowing from shadows of the empire in XWA...also, if you start with Bakura, then you can have atmosphere missions (ive decided to call them atmosphere, call it what you will) there anyway...all i know is, you should have a main fleet point, and if you want to get really technical, you could even have cordinates in a palm-pilot type thing, so you had to punch them in and go to hyperspace more manually...man, is there any way i can send this to lucasarts? You start out flying a mission for the Rebels under the command of Olin Garn, when half the fleet are taken out by what Intelligence believes to be Garn. There is some evidence somehow, don't ask how... He is court martialed so you agree to resign your commision to help him prove his innocence as you track down the real person that did it with him at your side in his old ship he used as a bounty hunter. Aeron, Emkay, and you are in the Otana as you fly missions with Garn to find the culprit, fly a few with Emon as you search for your uncle, and some big plot twist, like Antan being responsible for killing your squadron. LEC should not end it with some big, spectacular battle against the Ssri Ruk, but Antan and the Moff he collaborated with on Kessel. Just because Tomaas (I think it was Tomaas) and Galin (how can you forget a name like that?) were'nt in Kessel, does not mean they are dead. Maybe the brother survived and helps you for a while in the game, but he is a peaceful kinda guy, so you'll probably end up bailing his butt outta tough situations for a while. *** Hey, I will write a story outline of this and post it. SpaceMonkey1315 Posted March 17, 2003 Author Share Posted March 17, 2003 some good ideas but...i would like to fly in new republic missions...not all bounty hunter...some times you just need to fly and X-wing...however, yes, something happens, and garn is court-marshalled (slightly more power hungry new republic, throwing people out) but, you stay (satisfynig flying classic, republic ships) but there are many missions for the "family" Have something happen with Uncle Antan too, have him kill his brother, and galin escapes, so thats satisfyed, or maybe have him turn into a remniant officer...maybe even have him a part in Olin's court-marshalling...they used to be friends, he might find a way to use him. Then, Olin will be a big part, you'll stll be able to fly in all kinds of ships...and it would be great if somebody rebuilt the azameen home, somewhere else, maybe a little more powerful, but have a mission setup, you're able to walk freely around that, and the mon-cal cruiser that your stationed...a little resting period, and multiplayer can be set up...have some first and third person inbetween mission views so you can walk to the hangar's...meet with friends, get rumors on missions, and pick/arm your craft Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

If so, I was Katarn07/ GunganWarrior750 over there in the Elec Games. Of course there'd be some New Republic missions! But it would have just as many family missions for a story. The Republic stuff is just for fun and flying some nifty craft. The Rebels need a central story as to what they are doing. Here we go, new outline. - During the Battle of Endor (Ace may have been one of the guys on the Flacon manning a turret or something... You see guys in the ship in RotJ) Antan escapes Emon's fury. - Two years pass, Ace is second in command of a squadron led by Olin Garn. Aeron (and Emkay!!!) are mission coordinators for them under Olin's request. Emon has no part in the New Republic, but runs jobs for them. - A fellow squadron member can be Ace's girlfriend (new characters are a must), Olin's old smuggling buddies can come around later, and a few Rebels can be colored that were mentioned in XWA. - Olin is court martialed after evidence shows he attacked his men, leaving only Ace and his girlfriend alive. Ace takes leave from the Republic to help Olin out. - Along the way, Ace finds some strange things that Aeron finds that had been left by Antan. She and Emon immediately start planning to search for him. Ace helps out on a few missions with them, between the Republic missions and Olin's search. SpaceMonkey1315 Posted March 17, 2003 Author Share Posted March 17, 2003 that outline sounds great, exept for 2 things...the first is, in #1, you talk about Antan escaping emon, which didnt happen, remember, one mission after the death star? you go to kessel? so some time passes, yes, and the rest happens, but when you take leave from the new republic, make it that you have some on-call missions you can accept, only you dont have to, its great so far, but i really like the idea of Antan being an imp. remnant officer. Plus, you can find galin somewhere, and as mentioned before, have him tell a story of Antan and Tommas get in a mix, and Antan kills and runs away..(join the imps)...this is shaping up quite nicely Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

A new home... where? Ace and Aeron would live on base if they are Rebels. Oh, and the Emon thing, I made that up. Let's say, Emon (during Endor) chased Antan away (who is not an Imp, just helped them) He flees and does not return for 2 years. Than all this other stuff comes into play. You got suggestions, PM me. I cannot even FIND another one.
