Cable!!!!

Recommended Posts

i sometimes like my modem, because of some games with lag. the thing is, YOU CAN CHEAT! for example, you're in this one room and you're not supposed to go on untill you beat a boss. well, the door is a pic that you have to download. so while that''s downloading, GO THROUGH IT! it's hilarious.

well, sorta, it's like a little hub and you'll have to configure it, which isn't TOO hard. (it's hard the first time cause you don't know what's what) you'll need to buy some patch cable and have an ethernet card (aka NIC card) on each computer.

its more both

its a box that takes the source ethernet cable (from either your dsl modem or your cable modem) and creates a network that way.

what happens is that every computer that is hooked up top that network, gets its own IP address, and the router has the actual IP address that is read by online things: such as that a website that shows your IP address will be the one that is the router's (which means if you hop onto anotehr computer in the network, the computer will have a different IP, but the IP shown to you on that website will be the same)
