Animation System V2.0

Ok, that's it. The current animation code needs an overhaul to fix problems and add features we need. I'm starting on this immediately, anyone who wants to contribute please let me know. PLEASE NOTE I'M NOT TALKING ABOUT MAKING NEW ANIMATION POSSIBLE, THAT'S A SEPERATE ISSUE ALLTOGETHER.

There's what I see for JK2 Animations V2.0:

1. Matching Client<->Server Animations

2. ALL animations properly use the leg/torsoTimers.

3. Animations that have negative frame rates run correctly.

4. Fix the server Saber Spinning Desync Bug.

5. Ability to start animations at whatever point you want and at whatever speed.

6. Abilty to freeze a given animation in place at a given point.

7. Client side animation prediction (I just had an idea on how to do this.)

You think you could add edge-hang? In almost all Star Wars- Jedi games, players could hang from catways,cables,etc.

Just a thought though

Acctualy this can be done. In the mod http://styleoversubstance.net

They made it so you could hang off walls.

It didn't look all to bad either.

nfortunatly the modders disappeared and never released their source. :(

I am interested in learning about animations editing. I have programming experience of 3 or so years with html, vb, c style types, and very very little perl. I'm a decently quick learner and desire to make a "drunken style" set of moves for Jedi Outcast. (From Jackie Chan's Legend of Drunken Master). Anyway, I've heard you are good with animations in this game and would like to learn from you and possibly help with your project in any small way.

Thanks,

AM
