Well personally for me some EU is cool like kyle katarn, but others like the vong for me is stupid because they KILLED chewie :( ,and they have weapons like so they can create blackholes  what's that all about ??? And they come from another galaxy ??? what, isn't the star wars galaxy enough ??? EU authors in some aspects ruin what the franchise is about. what next death of luke.

I agree about the "other galaxy" part. I mean, c'mon they still have a trillion systems or so in the Unknown Regions to explore. And in "Vision of the Future" when Mara is talking to the Chiss, they're talking about the "hundreds of things out there that would curdle your blood" or something like that. That one sentence could have been the basis for tens of other Star Wars books.

Did you ever think maybe that Vader that Luke fight's is just an illusion, much like Obi-Wan, and Yoda is like?

I don't believe this theory that there's a slain dark jedi that's occupying this land which prevents Yoda from being forseen by the force. Hell Luke found him right? How did Luke find him? Because Obi Wan told him. Well how did Obi Wan know this? Probably because he sensed it or Yoda told him I guess we'll find out in Ep. 3.

What I think is that Darth Vader simply had no real legitmate reason to find Yoda. All of the Jedi excluding Yoda were extinct and Yoda was old and decripit anyways... I could see vanquishing him at his advanced age would be much simpler for Vader but why bother? Let nature take it's course.

Also I don't think Vader's powers were strong enough to search the whole damn galaxy for Yoda's presense anyways. He could barely sense Obi-Wans presense when he was on the Death Star in Episode 4.

That's my theory. That' there is no damn theory.

I thought that the Jedi were hunted down and killed by Vader, or by his orders. Wouldn't that be reason enough to hunt down Yoda, possible one of the most powerful Jedi? As for being old and decrepit, he's something like 900 years old, right? 20 years is but a drop in the bucket to someone that old, yet about 20 years before Yoda died he participated in the battle of geonosis, and he didn't appear too decrepit then, did he?

It isn't a theory it is in a Star Wars book. How the book tells it was that a person who was paid to go to worlds and survey them went to Dagobah, then labeled something like Planet Y23ks2l, and was scared !@#$%^&*. There was a rumor that a battle took place a long time ago between two jedi. One dark and one light where the dark was destroyed and the light dude went ? It is in a book I have read it I just have read so many I don't know which one. Also it doesn't say Yoda if I remember correctly but it would be logical to assume it is Yoda since he lived there.

And your thing about how did Obi find Yoda and not Vader is a crock. First Obi is "One with the Force" and there is no telling what that leads to other than speaking after death. Yoda could have told Obi where he was going or something. It was not imperrative for all the jedi to be destroyed by the Empire if they chose exile, service for the Empire, or were not worth destroying.

It was in "Vision of the Future" and Cardaas (sp) and his smuggler crew was captured by a Dark Jedi who killed all of them but Cardaas. They landed on Dagobah only to find Yoda there. Yoda and the Dark Jedi fought or days and Yoda won and nursed Cardaas back to life.

But GL probably wrote "Impossible, the Sith have been extinct for a millennium." too. Man, that guy has to make up his mind about sith soon.

But they weren't... Kai only THOUGHT that. Why, there were 2 Siths sitting right under his nose in Ep 1 but he still thought they were extinct. GL wrote it to show the ignorance of the Jedi.

I know that they weren't really extinct. I was just showing that after what the Jedi council, included Yoda, knew, there was nothing that gave them reason to think there was a sith. Thus, Yoda can't have fought a sith before Dooku.
