No doubt about that. :D

What I didn't like about NWN is that if you chose the evil arc of the conversation it lead to the same place as the good arc did. So it was more window dressing than anything else.

K0TOR won't be like that, which is a relief.

I've only really skimmed through this thread, but as for being able to walk around after the main quest, I don't really see the point for this game. To be honest, where people congratulating me on a victory comes into the equation, I'd prefer that to be at the start of a new expansion pack or possibly sequel. I'd like to be able to carry over my character into a sequel as well, and start off from the ending of the previous game. I know that's harder to do these days, but not impossible.

I remember when I played the Eye Of The Beholder series, it allowed you to import your characters from the previous game, because as I recall each game actually started your characters at a higher level.

I'd love to see this sort of thing for a series of KOTOR games. I guess a lot will depend on the success of KOTOR itself, but I really can't see it being a flop, and there must be opportunities for expanding it at a later date.

As for NWN, I'm still only a bit further than halfway through SP, but I've enjoyed it so far. :)

NWN interaction with NPCs was bad. I enjoyed the game for what it was worth but I feel that the NPC interaction let it down. The conversations just went in circles and the NPCs didnt react to what you said beyond the set single response of "What a bad person you are", etc.

Back on topic though, continuing to walk around after youve completed the main story really depends on, as said before, whether there will be an expansion pack. If there is, then the game should end at the end of the story. If not then it would be worth being able to go back and explore some places you didnt fully explore before or do other quests.

Of coarse we dont know if there will be an expansion pack. And even if there were any thoughts along those lines floating about at Bioware, it would depend on the how well KotOR does and whether Bioware feels that an expansion pack is appropriate and would benefit the game.

:D

I hear that!!

It would be nice to go back and see how your actions changed the galaxy and things like that but after the credits roll(hopefully with newly composed music, char themes and all :)) I would prefer to see what happens next in the 'next chapter'.

Plus if the player char (as has been speculated) came into control of the Sith army or became the new villian of the Republic there would surely be something for the player char to do

With regards to NWN, I enjoyed the NWN official campaign (and am currently playing through as a "my fists are registered lethal weapons" monk), but yea, you can see it suffered from the time they spent on the tool-set etc..then again that is the beauty of the game :) hundreds of free modules being made.

[pointless trivia]Did you know that right back in the original Baldur's Gate, Bioware had planned to make your character importable from that game(and the series) through to NWN...so you could've been playing NWN with a char you made, 2 expansion packs and 2 games worth of development time later(if 3rd Edition D&D wasn't so different)[/pointless trivia]

Yeah, I finished the game as a monk too. Monks kick @ss(and other things too). I might go back and start over as something else.

You all must tell me about these monks. What skills and abilites do they have that make them so good? Do they match up to a KoTOR class in any round-about way?

according to my games shop its exactly a month and KOTOR will be mine but then again... with gta: vice city it was delayed i tihnk 3 months down here in australia...

According to your game store....meh....:p

According to my game store Knights will be out 2 months ago. :D

Never trust a store. Only LucasArts.com and Bioware.

Remember.

i think going back is a good idea. people reacting to you based on how you beat the game would be a nice extra, i think that once you unlock a planet you can go back to it before beating the game. i don't think it really matters, but it wouldn't be bad or anything if they added it.
