Thrik
I just bought a graphic tablet last night so I decided to make a quick test sketch that turned out half-looking like Guybrush. I coloured it in to make it a little more fit for posting, but anyways.. Hopefully there'll be some proper pictures coming from me soon - once I get myself used to drawing on the tablet but following the screen :x

Thrik
If you want a graphics tablet make sure it's a wacom, almost every artist I've spoken to claims to use one and they have a lot of price ranges. They're also supposed to last ages and are really durable. The cheapest one is £40 from PC-World (in the UK). It's cheap because it's a retired wacom that is no longer on their site, the graphire2 replaced it I think. It's called the Volito. The Graphire2 is the cheapest one listed on their site at £75 from PC-World, although I've thoroughly checked out the specs of both and the only difference I can find is that the pen itself has a few less buttons (which I personally use the mouse for anyway) and it's a different colour. They're both A6-sized, which may seem small but I am getting on alright with it. I'll want to get a larger one as I get more into it though. Then they have the Intuos2 range, which is a lot more expensive (over £200 I think) but it has over 1000 levels of sensitivity instead of 512, comes in larger sizes (up to A3 size) and yeah. Go check out their site for more info. Oh, if anyone wants to buy the Cintiq wacom which is a flat-screen monitor that you can draw directly onto go for it - only £1,500!! Joshi
Annoyingly, the PC world I went to said they didn't have any graphics tablets, so I may have to order online. and considering the cheapest and best one I can find is the graphire 2, I may just get that. But i've got limited funds at the mo and so i'll probably wait until i get some more money in (say a month or so) Thanks though, you've been a great help. Joshi
Originally posted by Neil Joshi Annoyingly, the PC world I went to said they didn't have any graphics tablets, so I may have to order online. and then the other day i went back to the same PC world and asked someone else and they said they did have them and showed me right to them. Bloody git (whoever told me there weren't any). so yeah, they're basically tyhe same price as you listed above and I may get teh £75 graphire 2 (A6 is not a problem, I seem do well with small mouse mats when doing my usual art). That is if my dad allows me (i'm basically trying to get him to pay for it and if he doesn't then i'll try toconvice him to let me get it myself, only thing is, we don't have that much space around the comp at the mo, but we're in the middle of moving and we'll hopefully get mroe space for the comp, so i may have to wait till then.) Thrik
Hehehe. I forgot to post my Manny sketch, here it is: Very rushed and very sketchy, but I'm planning to recolour it much more beautifully (hopefully giving it a painted look) and add a nice background. I'll post it as soon as I get it done.
