Shotokan Posted June 10, 2003 Posted June 10, 2003 It says this when I try to open up a model: "R_LoadMDXM: missing animation file models/players/_humanoid/_humanoid for mesh model.glm" What the heck does that mean?
Psyk0Sith Posted June 10, 2003 Posted June 10, 2003 It means you have to extract the animation file to the _humanoid folder so your glm file has something to make it dance!
Shotokan Posted June 10, 2003 Author Posted June 10, 2003 Sorry to sound like a noob, but this is my first time skinning... *Ahem* Where is the animation file? *begs for mercy from skinning god*
Psyk0Sith Posted June 11, 2003 Posted June 11, 2003 check the assets0.pk3 file (open with winzip) and find _humanoid.gla.
Shotokan Posted June 12, 2003 Author Posted June 12, 2003 I've already extracted all of that. In the _humanoid file I have _humanoid.gla and animation.cfg, but I still can't get a player model into ModView.
tFighterPilot Posted June 12, 2003 Posted June 12, 2003 You need to put all the models folder under base\models\players
Shotokan Posted June 12, 2003 Author Posted June 12, 2003 They are all in there... It still isn't working...
jp-30 Posted June 13, 2003 Posted June 13, 2003 What's your full path to the \players\ directory? ie. c:\Program Files\LucasArts\ ... etc Cause if it's different to default you can get problems.
Shotokan Posted June 13, 2003 Author Posted June 13, 2003 C:\Program Files\LucasArts\Star Wars JK II Jedi Outcast\GameData\base\models\models\players Is it wrong?
jp-30 Posted June 13, 2003 Posted June 13, 2003 That looks fine. The other thing - where is your ModView program located? If I recall correctly it should be in a \tools\ dirctory C:\Program Files\LucasArts\Star Wars JK II Jedi Outcast\GameData\Tools\ or maybe C:\Program Files\LucasArts\Star Wars JK II Jedi Outcast\GameData\Base\Tools\ I can't remember which location, and I'm away from my usual machine right now.
Shotokan Posted June 13, 2003 Author Posted June 13, 2003 Yeah the ModView is in the GameData/Tools directory.
Shotokan Posted June 13, 2003 Author Posted June 13, 2003 Darn... There goes my hope at skinning.... *sigh* I'm sure I can use photoshop but I would like to see my progress... Well thanks anyway guys I really appreciate it!
Zyryn Posted June 13, 2003 Posted June 13, 2003 Have you updated to patch 1.03/4 yet? If not, do so. Then extract the following files from assets0.pk3 to the following folders: unzip from: C:\Program Files\LucasArts\StarWars JKII Jedi Outcast\GameData\base\assets0.pk3 Once unzipped, the following files can be extracted from: C:\[assets0]\models\players\_humanoid _humanoid.gla animation.cfg copy to: C:\Program Files\LucasArts\StarWars JKII Jedi Outcast\GameData\base\models\players\_humanoid and if it exists (like it does on my machine, for no apparent reason whatsoever during installation) C:\Program Files\LucasArts\StarWars JKII Jedi Outcast\GameData\base\models\players\_humanoid\_humanoid Store your Work-in-progress (WIP) skins in the following folders (for example, your skin name is ALPHA). directory: C:\Program Files\StarWars JKII Jedi Outcast\GameData\base\models\players\ALPHA\ Files in this directory: animsounds.cfg head.tga icon_default.jpg legs.jpg model.glm model_default.skin etc, etc....... Give it a try if you haven't already done so!
Psyk0Sith Posted June 14, 2003 Posted June 14, 2003 God you guys like to complicate things ...why dont you create a base folder on a root drive like c:\base\models\players install the toolkit in c:\base\tools, that's my setup and never had any problems.
PRSLou Posted June 14, 2003 Posted June 14, 2003 C:\Program Files\LucasArts\Star Wars JK II Jedi Outcast\GameData\base\models\models\players You have two models folders...it should be: C:\Program Files\LucasArts\Star Wars JK II Jedi Outcast\GameData\base\models\players I have it like that and its perfectly fine.
PRSLou Posted June 14, 2003 Posted June 14, 2003 No problem. Isn't funny how one little folder can ruin our day.
