Exar_reborn
I have been debating this with my friends for ages!!!, this is a year to come but i thought I'd start asking now. In 2004 a couple things will happen BIGGGGGGG things. The SWG space expansion is one of them. This will increase the game SOOOOOOOO much and bring everything to a whole new level. But there are also some other games coming out that have been recieving hype for years. One being Worlds of Warcraft which is totally changing the previous setup of birds eye view to a third person MMORPG. The other, Middle Earth Online. Next to Starwars, Tolkien is my next big thing and middle earth follows the classic RPG by having wizards/magic, warriors/medieval warfare, goblins, trolls, ents, and orcs. And for any of you who have read beyond the hobbit and LOTR on things such as the Silmarillion you can imagine some of the updates they could have. With all of this said, will you still be commiting to JUST ONE game?
Luey Fubar
Warcraft 3 was enough to put me off blizzard for a long, long time. So that's WoW out of question. As for Middle earth; Blah. Be full of LOTR maniacs running around saying "IAM LEGOLAS OMG!!11". I think I'll give that a miss. Final Fantast XI may be good, although I can't image the community being a respecable one. Also, due to squaresoft's decline in quality over the years, the more games they bring out, the worse they get it seems. The matrix MMORPG (rumor) might be interesting, or just a rushed attempt to cash in on this rapidly growing sub-genre of RPG. Legend of Mir 3 :: Evil's Illusion is a game I would deffo' see into, I've already got a charactor on LOM2 so if he gets transfered, I'd give it a shot. Exar_reborn
I can't see the matrix being an MMORPG and if it is i don't think i would play it. But whats that last one you said "legend of mir? whats that?

UnfrozenCaveman
Haven't seen you in a while Exar. I don't think anyone of them will come out on top- although, I don't think everyone who buys SWG will like the game. I'd say out of 500,000 who play, maybe 1,000-5,000 won't like the game. Jackrabbit
Is Middle Earth still going to incorporate Perma-Death? I thought WoW looked good at first, but at this point I think it's going to suck. I don't know why...I just do. My opinion on Middle Earth is kind of weird. If you glorify something too much, it ruins it. The LoTR series was awesome. The movies were awesome, even though they are starting to differ from the books. But now, they have video games, magazines, a P&P RPG, and posters of Elijah Wood (I think that's his name) as Frodo. I think they've gone too far, and for me it kind of ruins the mystical feel. I feel like something has been taken from me. It's kind of depressing actually . Luey Fubar
yeah it's true, have you seen the new game? The graphics are nice but the gameplay looks sooo linear. They've stopped focusing on the story and they're working too hard on wowing us with high-budget visuals.
Exar_reborn
yeah unfroze my cable connection went offline for a while (almost murdered a couple people for that one) But i'm back now..
Goose_Of_Mercy
I think Tribes3 or whatever they named it might be a big deal although it isnt coming out until 2004 holidays. I think MMORPGs will split up into: actual RPGs like what SWG will hopefully be and into power gammer type RPGs like D2 and such. ~SK~
Luey Fubar
Well D2 isn't really an MMORPG, more like RPG / Adventure with an online function. Could call it an MORPG (not 2 M's) I suppose though.

Its Chinese/ Korean MMORPG Edit - yeah i play Ac2.. its pretty good gets a bit boring at higher lvls coz you just do same 5 quests over n over to get exp lol
Luey Fubar
I do, it's an alright game. Seems so boring now that I've read all the SWG stuff. Yes... lets kill stuff -_- Crafting used up all my cash. PKing sucks, whenever you enter a PK area you're dead before you're out of the portal, thanks Mr.Gankers. Quests are pointless, you just do the same ones over and over and over for experience. Also it's very, very buggy.
Goose_Of_Mercy
Hopefully SWG can live up to what people expect of it. If so we should have a great game on our hands. ~SK~
DarQJeChTi
Im tired of medieval/magic games for now. After playing Diablo, Diablo II, Everquest, Neverwinter Nights...It seems all of that is gone now; And now SWG is out, it'll tack on 5 more years of MMORPG gaming for me. Thank you George Lucas. So yeh, I'll commit myself to play this game and only this game. Maybe some Ravenshield when my brother plays SWG (Need 2 accounts).
