-=ReApEr=- Posted June 27, 2003 Posted June 27, 2003 Ok guys, as some of you know. The current =A= chatroom is having a few stablity problems. I now suggest we move the chatroom to Gamesnet, now to connect to gamesnet. Where you chosse the server you connect to. Scroll down to Gamesnet: Random west US server or the east version. Then connect, then click commands, then join. Then type in Associates. If all gos well, you should be in our room. Sorry for the inconvience, but it will be alot easier for all of us, any questions post in the sticked associates chatroom thread.
-=ReApEr=- Posted June 27, 2003 Author Posted June 27, 2003 Well it is in the list but here if it isn't. west.gamesnet.net
Koenig Posted June 27, 2003 Posted June 27, 2003 I'd recommend startide.homelinux.com Its a prelifery of Slackernet a small but capable IRC server Its private has all the functions you need and is currently home to a couple of my projects and a Rebel Clan. I've spoken to the admins as I'm friendly with them and also a Helper they'd be happy to have you.
-=ReApEr=- Posted June 27, 2003 Author Posted June 27, 2003 Gamesnet would be preety much easier, but it's up to the co leaders anyway.
Opa Posted June 27, 2003 Posted June 27, 2003 gamesnet is a very good server I used it for my clan in dod, very reliable.
SpookyTee Posted June 28, 2003 Posted June 28, 2003 i think we should stick with the current or try quakenet maybe gamesnet but gamesnet admins are very crude (not all of them just some) one kicked me from support just for asking a question about there services.

Are you sure?
Koenig Posted June 28, 2003 Posted June 28, 2003 Gamesnet is rubbish, we used to use it before we moved to the new server. Its Nick and channel registration system is poor and very lengthy.
Jan Gaarni Posted June 28, 2003 Posted June 28, 2003 We'll talk about it tomorrow in the PA Leader Meeting. Meantime, keep pitching in comments about which you would like, and pros and cons for each if you have them.

Koenig Posted June 28, 2003 Posted June 28, 2003 Ok Gamesnet is'nt completely rubbish. But Slackernet is a much more useful service. It is capable of dealing with the numbers Gamesnet has, but it is very reliable, well run by experienced people and best of all , all the members/admins are Star Wars fans many of which are going to play Galaxies. It is also possible in the future for them to provide webhosting.
Sunshine Badass Posted June 29, 2003 Posted June 29, 2003 Well, as of now and a few days ago, I have been unable to connect to IRC at all. It is frustrating and I have not been able to solve the problem. I am working on it though.
-=ReApEr=- Posted June 29, 2003 Author Posted June 29, 2003 Ok well we will discuss this all tonight hopefully.
Bogey Posted July 8, 2003 Posted July 8, 2003 may i suggest irc.rizon.net it is the best network and most stable
Koenig Posted July 8, 2003 Posted July 8, 2003 Hmm Number 1 Bogey isn't an associate according to the site, so he should'nt be posting on the associate boards. And 2 He's an admin on the server ( I did some simple digging) so he's therefore pretty darned biased too.
-=ReApEr=- Posted July 9, 2003 Author Posted July 9, 2003 Ah i see, well i still need to discuss this with wraith and all that.
Wraith 8 Posted July 9, 2003 Posted July 9, 2003 if reaper can set the chatroom up so that we can use it and WE only can admin it... than im ok with it.. reaper i trust your judgement in this completely
