Normally I'd close it, but I think I'm gonna leave this one open, because people were asking for a link to it just the other day. ^_^

*gasp*

Eets, I thought you were the one that yelled at everyone when they did something like this..(?)

Am I losing my mind or have you just hit a nice streak? :p

Anyways, its a good reason to leave it open. ;)

Doesn't necesarilly mean that it is from the PC... I use my television on a regular basis to watch movies via my computer, and do a bit of experimenting with it every now and then.

But granted, it prolly was the X-Box version when you look at the interface and such.

I loved that video ... that is what really me decide I wanted this game. I'm a FPS person mainly, but as I get .... um ... more mature ... (read: closer to XXXX) I am more in the whole RPG thing I've not done since a little D&D in high school in the early 80's.

Let me ask - I've got the pre-release demo of NWN for the Mac - is NWN the best place to start to appreciate the scope and pacing this game is likely to have?

Thanks,

NWN is a good way to get an idea what KotOR will be like, but there will be notable differences. Biggest changes are...

  • Settings - well, D'UH. Neverwinter Nights is set in a fantasy world whilst Knights of the Old Republic takes place in the Star Wars universe... although there are already hakpaks for NWN who might change that.
  • Combat - With extra options like queing your attacks and even more cinematic eyecandy, you'll find the KotOR fights to be more "star warsy".
  • Henchmen - Instead of having the capability of having only one AI-controlled henchmen, you'll have up to three PCs(main PC included) in your party. Furthermore, you can control every other NPC just like you would your PC, with the only difference being that your PC will do the talking most of the time.
  • Minigames - There will be various minigames in the game that will break up the RPG segment. Instead of relying on your character skills, you'll be needing your own reflexes to get past these trials

From the top of my head, these are pretty much the biggest differences between NWN and KotOR. The GUI will be somewhat different, I suppose, but if you'll play NWN, you will have a good idea what Knights will be like. Perhaps someone can back me up here, or add some items to the list?
