What's so funny about that? All the experiences I've had with Linux have been ever so much better than Windows. Of course, it could be that this is a hardware problem he's got, but I bet it's only made worse by Windows.

OMG! Your not very tech savvy are you? You might as well throw your PC against the wall and see if it works after... lol

If your computer was working and then all of the sudden your connection goes down. Then rebuilding your PC is not the solution.

First thing to check - Do you have an IP adress?...

Do this

1) Start\run\command\ipconfig /all

2) If you have an IP adress and no connectivity contact your ISP

3) If you have no IP reboot - Ipfonfig /renew

4) Follow step 2 after reboot

5) If you still have no ip contact ISP

Most likely you have some sort of disruption in connectivity if it was working then all of the sudden stopped. It is possibly however unlikely your modem is not functioning, again I'm not your ISP you will have to contact them.

NOTE: Rebuilding your PC will do nothing to repair a problem with a disruption in internet connectivity.
