Firefoot
NA...? Any idea if it will be released in Europe too any time?
DomStLeger
Thats good news. If TAC are picking up 3rd person ags, then maybe this means syberia did rather well? And Microids seems to be restructuring themselves as an adventure company suggesting that it's Syberia (and Post Mortem?) thats actually saved them from bankruptcy? Speculation I know but another good looking ag on its way. I hope TAC bring the game to europe, and that the UK release uses british actors seeing as the game is set in the UK. DomStLeger
Originally posted by AGZanthia Syberia? What does Syberia has 2 do with it? Well Syberia was TACs first traditional 3rd Person ag wasn't it? Before that they were exclusivley all those 1st person myst style games. So it's a good sign imo that they're willing to try more 3rd person ags, traditional (Black Mirror) and brand new (BS3). Just saying that it must mean Syberia did well and so therefore is another sign there is life in the old girl yet...

Skinny Minnie
Wow, glad you mentioned that, Trep. My friend Michelle and I were just gabbing about that game the other night on the phone! We had wondered what happened to it...
Homoludens
It's coming, baby! It's coming! But I hope you haven't forgotten the other promising titles with dark and mature themes, like Midnight Nowhere, Farhenheit, and The Moment Of Silence. And I know how you love a good story with suspense and action, so I also hope you're keeping an eye on Hannibal, that upcoming game based on the Ridley Scott film. Very few people are talking about, and unfortunately it's being stigmatized as yet another movie-to-game, so everyone expects it to be crap. But from what I've read, the concept sounds promising: action combined with a more cerebral approach to adventure and investigation, with features like a stress meter that is very sensitive to your decisions on professional ethics and trigger responses to situations. Your code of conduct as a FBI agent directly affects your chance of survival while tracking down Hannibal Lecter: The game is set up as a first-person shooter, but will include many heavily scripted sequences to make sure that events play out in a manner more sophisticated than ordinary run-and-gun gameplay. A standard shooter’s weapons have been supplemented with the non-lethal tools an FBI agent might need in the ordinary course of an investigation, such as things like handcuffs to capture a more complacent foe. The development team is working hard to achieve a balance between the action of combat and more thoughtful investigation. As Clarice Starling, the player is supposed to be a benevolent character, so the developers have implemented a “stress” dynamic. If the player shoots law enforcement agents or innocent bystanders, Clarice’s stress level rises. If her stress level gets too high, then she needs to use sedatives or it can become hard to perform activities such as shooting. If Clarice gets too stressed, she can become incapacitated. E3 preview, Frictionless Insight It looks like Arxel Tribe is trying a different approach to the first person shooter, and I'm hoping they'll make the gaming community eat their words. It's slated for release on November 20. Here are a couple of screens (the official site has more):
Skinny Minnie
Wow- I totally missed the boat on this one. I didn't even know it was in the works! Boy, Arxel Tribe is really going nuts with stretching their wings and trying new creative things, huh? I hope it goes well for them and turns out good. Wouldn't it be cool to have a true hybrid FPS/adventure horror game? Hey, didn't they create Mistmare, too? Has anybody played that? I have the demo, but haven't tried it yet. I'm still hooked on Morrowind...
