The game is almost built like a responsive website. If you play it on an ultrawide display you can also get extra widescreen content here and there. The crop can change dynamically depending on the ratio. This must have been done with phones/tablets in mind, where there are no set ratios but modern devices range from about 19:9 to something around 4:3.1 point
