Differences in the Amiga version of MI2
Huz replied to ThunderPeel2001's topic in General Discussion
I think they did put more effort into avoiding disk swaps for MI2 than for its immediate successor, Fate of Atlantis - I can remember that being a lot more painful. However, it's possible they just had the luxury of having more free space to play with in MI2, so they had more freedom to duplicate things or shuffle them around. The all-time worst disk swap still sticks in my mind - when you arrive on Phatt Island from the boat, you had to insert disk 5, then disk 6, then disk 5 again. (Possibly the other way around...) -
Differences in the Amiga version of MI2

Haha, that's a really interesting change they had to make. I can just imagine the irritation of mixing a drink for the first time, and having to swap disks. I suppose if you'd been stuck for a while, the feeling of satisfaction that the game was actually going to let you do a new thing might offset it a bit! Does that mean the inventory icons for the different-coloured drinks are on each disk, or is it the same icon with the colour changed in code? Or do all the inventory icons get loaded into memory anyway? -
Sometimes several bugs can share the same root cause, so you can knock a load of them off at once by fixing a single thing. POW! Like that.

Differences in the Amiga version of MI2

In Easy mode there's no need to mix drinks, but you can. I think! Man, I only played it on easy about a week ago and it's gone already. Ok, tried it on my save and what I said is a true fact. -
Fantastic work - looks like it has all the same features as the Sam and Max map. Congrats!

I'm glad this improved quickly! 👕 I beat #Mojole and all I got was this stupid t-shirt. 5/6 🖤🖤🖤🖤🖤 🖤🖤🖤🖤🖤 🖤💛🖤🖤🖤 💚💚💚🖤🖤 💚💚💚💚💚 https://funzone.mixnmojo.com/Mojole/

(Love that green Adventure Gamer design! Ignore me.)

You're right! REMI!!!

I should have got this in three, but in a moment of madness I wondered if Remi had employed a new strategy to wreck my head - setting the same question twice. Or, the scenario I actually contemplated, that Mojole was broken and had got stuck. Sorry Remi! That would never happen! 👕 I beat #Mojole and all I got was this stupid t-shirt. 4/6 💛🖤💚🖤💚 🖤💛🖤💛🖤 🖤🖤💚💚💚 💚💚💚💚💚 https://funzone.mixnmojo.com/Mojole/

Since the thread has been bumped and I'm sure you're all dying to know - I did indeed play through the EGA version of Loom a little while after making this post. Moriarty - and you guys - are not wrong. The EGA version takes a massive dump all over the talkie edition. Pretty sad that the version of Loom available on Steam is the bad one, especially because anyone who is put off by it being - shall we say, an historic artefact - isn't going to be made happy just because it has 256 colours and some ropey speech. Luckily I was able to acquire EGA Loom from archive.org, which I'm sure is 101% legitimate and above board. I see the appeal of the game a lot more now! It's amazing what they were able to wring out of 16 colours. The video above on the previous page 😡 looks great - will have to watch at some point!

Differences in the Amiga version of MI2

Not sure if you're asking whether the Bart and Fink stuff is in the game at all, or in the Amiga version in particular? It's definitely in the DOS version - it's what happens if you stop the "99 bottles of beer" song ("Aw, I wasn't done") and then ask for another song. If you ask again you get the part about them only knowing dirty songs about Elaine. -
I was wrong about where Remi's thought process would lead. But then, he is unknowable. 👕 I beat #Mojole and all I got was this stupid t-shirt. 3/6 💛🖤💚🖤💚 🖤💛💛🖤🖤 💚💚💚💚💚 https://funzone.mixnmojo.com/Mojole/

Oof, that was a close one! I have an idea for what the answer might be tomorrow. At least, what it might be if Remi's brain works the same as mine, which we all know it doesn't. I knew that, of course! And a rare event - a Mojole win that would have been possible on Wordle's "hard mode". 👕 I beat #Mojole and all I got was this stupid t-shirt. 4/6 🖤🖤💚🖤🖤 🖤🖤💚🖤🖤 🖤💚💚🖤🖤 💚💚💚💚💚 https://funzone.mixnmojo.com/Mojole/

Haha. I played through Loom for the first time just last week, and I'm sorry to say I couldn't see why it's held in such high regard. But that was the Steam version, and the quote above might explain it! It sounds like I need to play it again in... shudder... EGA.
