What the hell is that?!
Off-topic: Just encountered Saren on Virmire (apparently I'm not allowed to start ME2 without importing a level 60 Shepard). Scene went by too fast for me to confirm, but Saren's eyes sure look an awful lot like Illusive Man's in "I'd rather dangle you off the side of a thingy than kill you when I have the chance" scene.

Good call re: Tali vs. Legion. FWIW, I (and therefore Shepard) wasn't sure if I would be sending Tali to her death, and she and Shep are supposed to be friends. Legions is a Geth and therefore expendable.
As for the BHC...I'm actually a member of the DK hater's club. I think I'm still accepted there

If I read that part correctly (now that I've finished the game, I can be spoilerific now), he will die unless there are other strong characters that are loyal. It seems that I chose my peeps wisely; loyal Legion for the pipes (though I considered sending Tali), loyal Tali as escort, loyal Asari-what's-her-name as a guide, Garrus as leader for the other group, etc.

Yeah, my first fish died. Been hesitant to buy more. Not sure about the space hamster either.

Yeah, though I've already got my eye on Yeoman Kelly for my Liara-romancing female Shep.
I imported a level 60 neutral male Shep for my first playthrough. Not sure how I feel about the scene with Ashley on Horizon. Letting the Council die seems to have put a real damper on things. Can't wait to see how a Paragon import plays out. Don't think I ever finished a Renegade playthough (44/45 achievements for ME).

Not finished yet.
Just landed on Krogan homeworld to do Grunt and Mordin's loyalty missions. Before that I picked up Tali.
Got Jack's loyalty then turned around and lost it again when she and Miranda got into a fight. Still have one more crew member to pick up but no more dossiers (I'm guessing I just find the geth thingy at some point). Other than that everyone else is loyal up the this point.
I've already been to the Collector ship, but I got the "enter railroad-end-of-game-sequence here" vibe from the dialog that followed, so I opted to continue building my team.

Grrr...
Ok, so now that I've spend thousands on fuel and probes and have accumulated vast amounts of resources, I find out that I'm never going to use a huge percentage of them.
Chalk it up to live and learn (for the next playthrough), but it would be nice to sell some of this eezo somewhere, etc.

I agree. There isn't much "RP" in this RPG but it's fun and it's pretty. I am particularly enjoying the loyalty missions, though I have to admit that the "disjointed" feel of the first game has been carried over and, to some degree, amplified in 2.
I really, really like that weapons are no longer skill based and that party members are no longer saddled with weapons that they don't/won't use.

Ooo, Kavars/The Senate make sense now.

Food for thought:

Hell Kitty's post (#4) is pretty much my entire AP experience. Sneak up to door, open it, activate Shadow Operative and run in to ninja everyone in the throat.
Shadow Operative isn't necessary most of the time, but it's fun when the room is full when you enter it and empty when you leave it

Put one single point into Sabotage and start carrying EMPs Or put two. That second one does make a difference, I promise.
I struggled and struggled with the hacking, but with practice I was just able to 'get it'. Also, a trick to consider: the field is X number of columns wide. The string you're looking for is Y characters long. You don't need to scan the whole table. Start by quickly scanning columns 8-9 and 13-14 (or whatever). The odd are extremely good that there will be 2 numbers in one or both of those "target columns" that aren't changing. Now you're half way there. And if you can split your attention: if you're moving one string, you have a few seconds to continue looking for the other one until you have to refocus on the first. Again, take some practice. What did it for me was running Parker's obstacle course about a million times in a row until I felt very, very comfortable with the minigames.

On one hand, i wouldn't wish the RRoD on anyone. On the other hand, I almost rather that you have faulty hardware than a buggy game.
