Yeah, I thought the garden gnomes were a nice touch. Have you met the Nightkin that sells "Wind-Brahmin" yet (I swear the Nightkin are my favorite...and Fantastic)?
Stealthboys feel like cheating to me so I tend to save them for "Break Glass in Case of Emergency" moments. Like when I found out that my stealthy guy couldn't defeat the mob of Legion guys that swarmed the Legates camp because I was neutral (got out of that one by using the SB, then reverse pickpocketing hand grenades into their inventory, planting mines in the paths they patrolled while looking for me, etc). And for the even tougher fight that followed the Legate.

Well, you don't have to wipe out the BoS. You can still complete their quest and draw a truce. Mr. House isn't happy about it, but it's not like you fail the quest.
Independent is a lot of fun. I still have at least one more Independent playthough planned (I never finished by Wasteland Doctor/FotA guy and I really want to see how that turns out when I do it correctly).
P.S. If you're going Indie this time, make sure you take a few Stealthboys with you for end-game and don't use them all on the Legate.

You can't have multiple companions in the PC version? Maybe you're only limited to one human and one bot (I've had playthroughs with Cass and Rex and Arcade and ED-E). Jacobstown is North of Red Rock Canyon (the Khans). I've seen Lily, but never spoken with her. Speaking of Black Mountain, did you catch on that the guy that does Tabitha's voice also did Saren's (and Leland from AP)?

I'm doing my cowboy run right now (w/ Raul as a companion). Fully modded cowboy repeater with hand-loaded .357 ammo and the Cowboy perk is devastating. Unfortunately, I gave Raul a .44 magnum to replace his default one so that he can use the SWC ammo and now he kills most everything before I have a chance to.
Have yet to recruit Veronica or Lily with any of my characters, though I think my next run will remedy that. Bought the Dead Money DLC last weekend, but haven't installed it yet.

The good news is that I've been able to finish the game a couple of times. Whatever is going on now is either caused by the patch or caused by an achievement which I didn't get until recently. Sucks cause I had many more builds planned. Considering that it's a show-stopper and that at least one other person has encountered the bug, I'm hopeful that it won't be allowed to sit on the back-burner for long.

Nice.
I'm actually a little shocked. I started this run thinking that melee/unarmed was going to be significantly more difficult than guns/energy weapons, but it seems (surprisingly) that the opposite is true. Apparently a lot of things die if you hit them in the head with a lead pipe. Taking out a Giant Radscorpion with a tire iron is also fun, but be sure to bring along lots of antivenom just in case.

The Witcher has a lot of pluses and a few glaring minuses. The story lacks continuity, has some plot holes, and gets plain hokey in one area in particular. I really liked the gameplay, the setting, the mechanics, and the choice-and-consequence. Play it, enjoy it. If you get to the end and think "ok, that was fun, but I have no clue what any of that was supposed to mean", know that you aren't alone.

From the Save Early, Save Often Desk:
Tried to upgrade my pre-order bonus weapon last night. Good news is that upgrade took, but because the model was not configured to show the upgrades, I got the big red exclamation point thingy. Since one cannot remove a mod from a modded weapon, my only recourse was to reload my auto-save (read: only save file).
Of course, the game reloads with my guy stuck in the environment. Can't run, can't jump. Try to fast travel myself outta there, but a notice that I can't fast travel when falling or jumping (which apparently one is doing when one is stuck in the environment).
So, guess who got to start over after almost 90 hours. I was almost finished with the first act too

Apparently 7 points in Luck is all that's necessary to get banned from the Primm casino in about 3 minutes flat. "Here's a comp. Here's another comp. Please leave; you're doing too well"
Also, when I cash out, the cashier gives me caps for my casino chips, but doesn't take my casino chips. I've confirmed that I can cash out repeatedly (presumably indefinitely).
So, yay for finding a bug. Thus far my only annoyance with the game is the tendency for NPCs to give me quests right after they said the they weren't going to give me quests and I try to leave. Once was okay. After the second time, I began to suspect a problem.

Encountered a bug and an "oops" that has me seriously considering starting over again.
Apparently creatures trapped in the landscape (clipping issue) are immune to gunfire. Good news is that you can melee them still. Bad news is that when they die, it crashes the game.
The "oops" is that you miss out on about 1,000 xp if you kill Eddie at the NCRCF without first getting the quest to do so. On the other hand, his faction already hates me so perhaps that wouldn't have gone well for me anyway. Hmmm...now I'm not sure.

"I remember that time the President and Secretary of Defense had to intervene to prevent a fringe pastor in Florida from dragging the United States into a global religious war. Those were strange days."
