Sam Fisher Posted September 28, 2003 Posted September 28, 2003 I have a 128mb:D It plays fine. Don't condem(sp?) the game before you can play it actually.
Emon Posted September 28, 2003 Posted September 28, 2003 That's a load of crap, who told you that?? It runs on any OpenGL 1.3 complaint video card. The amount of RAM, its speed, GPU speed and other factors determine the performance, but that doesn't mean you can't run it, it just won't look incredible.
Prime Posted September 29, 2003 Posted September 29, 2003 Actually, for a new game, JA has lower requirements than a lot of games...
Spider AL Posted September 29, 2003 Posted September 29, 2003 My spec was mid-high range a YEAR ago, when Outcast was released, and Academy works fine on it.
Master William Posted September 29, 2003 Posted September 29, 2003 I got 64 MB video card and the game runs like paradise. I don't see any problems
eastcoast2895 Posted September 29, 2003 Posted September 29, 2003 i got a s3 prosavage (laptop basic vid card) and i can get medium graphics at 1024 resolution and i can't think of any sluggish ness in gameplay in either sp or mp
DaveSauce Posted September 29, 2003 Posted September 29, 2003 yea, whoever told you that lied......try doing some research next time. As I recall, the box says 32mb is minimum required card. Anyhow, i'm playing academy on the same vid card that I played outcast on. Granted I can't max out settings (GeForce3), but the game still looks great. oh, and BTW, GRAMMAR!!!!!! I could barely read your post. Try complete sentinces and correct spelling.....very confusing.
Agen Posted September 29, 2003 Posted September 29, 2003 32mb works fine Always do soem research before tkaing it as gospel.
Kurgan Posted September 29, 2003 Posted September 29, 2003 So the game itself isn't bad, just your performance. Try the following: -Turn of Dynamic Glow -Turn of Force Feedback -Turn Anistrophic filtering to 0 (all the way to the left) -Turn EAX off -Lower the rest to 1024x768 (if it was higher) or possibly even 800x600 -Lower depth to 16 bit -Binlinear instead of Trilinear -Change detail to Medium That should put your FPS back to the level you'd get with JK2. Also be sure that you run the "system analyzer"program that came with it and run ALL the tests in advanced (directx setup), and make sure you correct any errors. I had to downgrade my nvidia drivers to get decent performance out of the game.
