Joshi
Why not. If indeed you think that post counts mean nothing, then altering them has done nothing to him. But considering he does seem to think that they are worth something which is why he is asking for them back, then altering them seems to be an apprpriate punishment for spamming. Persopnally, post count means nothing to me, mark mine down to 0 if you want to, but it seems to be important to him and he did something bad and so was showsn that something bad should not hapen by having that important thing taken away from him. Fair's fair.

Jared
well eh...I used to be obsessed with my post count...eh so I cant really say that this is stupid.....but think about it. Its a number. just a bloody number. If you think... people will respect you from a high post count....you are sadly mistaken. I have been here years and still don't have a very high post count. But, in the past, an admin would simply ban someone if they spammed...not nuke the post count...but don't you think that...its better than being banned? Its not like you have no posts...you have 257. Besides, it seems fair...if the posts were spam and they simply get removed...it just seems fair. Moral of the story...don't spam. Tis not funny. thats my 2 cents....no offence meant to anyone, its just my opinion.

Fair's fair. Why not? Because it's mean. I aim to make sense in even fewer words. And I'll tell ya what--set my post count to zero as well, and give my posts to Reclaimer. Zoom Rabbit
How is not being mean rewarding him for spamming? The idea is to correct his behavior, not 'get back' at him for spamming... Assuming spam really is the issue being punished here.

Exactly, most people get about 2 warnings, and if they spam again, they're gone. He got enough warning, and was never banned. Getting your post count is a lot less worse than being banned.
