Rumor
demo of #1 how messed up ff/so combat is now and #2 what happens when those with "honor" go to leagues and ladders to play people who only play the game to win. and #3 what the people with "honor" are really like. TWL 2v2 FF SO match between kaoticz and Imperial Ground Forces 193rd company /edit: If you cannot handle seeing people curse then don't watch the demo. IGF did a LOT of it. FK | unnamed
That really is a good demo on so many levels. 1- It does show just how messed up full force saber combat is now. What was once the single most intricate and complex game type in Jedi Outcast, is now... holding down a lightning key or holding down the primary attack and randomly flailing with a saber staff? The way rumor and plaz were playing was "noobish" by all means (no offense guys). But the bottom line is, the game play in JA has become so simplistic that stupid stuff like that pays off now. And plaz and rumor being the type of players, who are there to win, are going to use whatever means they can to achieve that goal. 2- It really does show how those "with honor" are the most clueless and verbally abusive people in this game. This was a ladder match and it was a FULL FORCE saber ladder match as deemed by the league. Yet they complain about Force on a ladder THEY SIGEND UP TO PLAY ON? Not to mention this is an actual league match, once it goes live, it's live. How the hell anyone could think that putting a saber down and typing is going make them a no kill target in league play is just... insane. That really is a damn good demo guys. It shows just how messed up the game play is and how messed up the attitudes of people (who make up a very large %) in this community are.
Iblis Reborn
are you using a script for team energise?
FK | unnamed
Yeah, chat box+ energize gives it away. One thing though, the energize chain is really not an issue in JA, it is actually slower than doing it by hand in JO. Go figure. I will say it is the one good nerf they put in. There is now a small delay so it can not done in rapid succession back to back when used with the old multiple "key;energize" exploit. Also, major props to rumor and plaz, very professional behavior. Kind of ironic considering we are a bunch of "lamers and whiners" huh?

Rumor
Originally posted by FK | unnamed The way rumor and plaz were playing was "noobish" by all means (no offense guys). of course. 1. we weren't really trying to use any specific strategy. 2. what we did do was the most effective in ja. 3. we were playing a newb clan that talked a lot of **** on the rant boards and we wanted to use the most effective weapon in the game. and we would have pushed the score into the 80s if we didn't have to hunt them down so much, and if the maps for 2v2's were a bit smaller. some of those are just too damn big. FK | unnamed
nah by "noobish" I meant the nerfed game play only gave you limited options and those options were pretty simple to execute. There is no way in hell people could do that in Jedi Outcast and not get wiped off the map. The only reason I even said that, was I knew some one would go "all you guys did was spam lightning, that's noobish". You guys looked at your options, picked what worked best and did it. Same thing I would have done.

The sh1t these guys were talking was hillarious.

Which was smarter than flailing a saber around as two guys were lightning whoring you. I hate these idiots who come in from an NF play style and expect to own at FF because [sarcasm]it's just n00bish force powers, which obviously don't take any "skill" to use and flailing a saber is a lot more difficult than this.[/sarcasm]
Remij
I hate you both, and if I were playing that game I would have made a mochary of your lives and existance, all with my horizontal and vertical attacking skills. speaking of which, I'm going to re-install that POS game, and play just to be a menace to all the people who like it and think its good. With HL2 and Doom3 not out till next year, looks like I have my work cut out for me.

They had the team energize script and their strat was to whore pull-throw. They did very well with it too. End score was around 80-5. I realize the demo download doesn't work so I'll upload my version of the demo. (which is in my PoV, not rumor's) Here's the download link: demo

flabajaba2213
I thought it was a good match. A bit one sided, but good match. =). The fact of the matter is, and I am not trying to flame anybody, if they are as good at NF 2v2 as they say, then they should drop out of the FF 2v2 and join the NF 2v2 ladder. I think that they would be much happier and more productive there. Also, I love lightning and drain. =) I get kicked a lot, but I just come back and ask why? They say that I was whoring lightning, and I ask them why they have force then? Later
AxVegetA
The other thread where i was suposed to answer was closed so ill use this one. Ill moderate my words so this thread wont be closed. To pasma and those people wanting to spectate. 1am cause thats the best conection time in a not so late hour. Unless u have to go to bed at 10, in which case we can setle it up for the morning. Considering u r a freak, u may cheat or do something weird, so let it be a neutral server instead of yours, a low ping server thats empty most of the time (anyone), u name it. And give me your MP name and ip so i can know it is you and not some of your friends (ill give you mine too). And yeah, some of the other noobs wanting to espectate can take pics too and turns againts me, even power duel if u want to. Rumor
wow i must really be very abrasive because i just had a 1v1 match and i got cussed out and my opponent left. i had 80% packet loss so i couldn't tell if my saber was going to hit or not, so when i did use it it was for show, heh. nonetheless, you see how these "honor" nubs really are...very un-honorable. Author: Gipper - Posted: 10/20/2003 10:55:48 AM pathetic. You cant have a saber much agaisnt someone who doesn't use one. Running away + drain + lightning does not equal a fight. Learn how to duel on 56k...it can be done. ^ that is from match comms after he left. demo: http://kaoticz.com/plazma/files/rumorvsgippertwl.zip
g//anarki
Keep the demos coming dude... I'll post some after I have a few more twl matches. There was one guy I played 1v1 on TWL who I really respected, despite him being an honor guy. He didn't really like the way I was playing but he adapted to it and actually got 9 kills, but he lost 10-9 to me.
Rumor
heh believe it or not i've only had one person to complain on COG. and he was nice. he just left when it was 8-0. the other people i played just played and said great game. tho one said although i couldn't tell how much saber skill you had, gg. ^ those people have my respect. FK | unnamed
Honestly guys, my best experiences in this game all came on ladders. I don't mean the match quality. I mean the quality of player behavior. Granted there were a few times when things got a little heated between teams and some trash talking happened (comes with the territory), but I would say 99.9% of the players and teams I met were total gentlemen (gentlewomen too) and it really made the game fun. A very large part of the Jedi Knight community really could learn a lot of lessons in regards to manners and just showing people common courtesy from those who play competitively. Like I said, look at that demo for a perfect example of how "lamers who spam moves and ruin the fun" are some of the most respectful and courteous people in this community. Don't get me wrong, we have our fair share of jerks as well, but they make up the minority in our circle as opposed to the way they seem to be the majority in the population of casual players.
