Pedro The Hutt
In other words, mod this game, we will not. I don't see why one would anyway ^^' Or do we really want to play as Darth Maul that desperatly? >.>

I think that it's unfortunate that there is no opportunity to play KOTOR online. When I look at the Neverwinter Nights community, and how large it is, and all of the mods and new scenarios becoming available - I truly think it's a missed opportunity. This is basically the 'old' Lucasarts style...no tools, no possibility of expanding the gaming experience beyond what comes out of the box - unless some experienced programmers out there can find a way, like they did with Jedi Knight. Even so...Jedi Knight had MP out of the box, but KOTOR doesn't. I guess the idea was for people to get SWG instead if they want to roleplay online. But that's a shameful oversight, IMHO. If you like the particular look and feel of a certain game...why should you be forced to buy something completely different (and buggy) in order to roleplay online? I've always been disappointed by the lack of MP support...and now it looks like the SP part of the game can't be expanded any further either. Shameful. Truly shameful. Eets
I think you gentlemen are focusing on the wrong part of the interview! HomeLAN - What is the current status of the game's progress and when will it be released? Casey Hudson - I’m happy to say that the game is basically done. We’re now in the final stages of testing and bug fixing, so we expect to see it on shelves in a matter of weeks. Huzzah!

Frosty_V2.1
Well said Personally I'm kinda happy that they didn't spend time on MP and it's been maintained that there would be no MP or toolset (at least before the game is released, but they really haven't suggested anything either). After NWN there would, I think, be an expectation for a toolset like that (which means time etc...), and without it, MP could get boring quickly. Co-op perhaps would have been nice though. No tools don't mean no mods however There must be a few people who will be interested, I can think of another of BioWare's primarily SP games/engines which has an extensive modding community and they received little direct support. At least people can guess that some things will be the same as how NWN works so there is something there...

What I seem to be seeing from some of these game publishers, and LucasArts in particular with the Star Wars license, is a very corporate productization - any company in my industry (semiconductors) has some marketing stuff I've seen that says something like 'full range of products ... to be a full-line supplier'. And while I see the benefits in terms of resource allocation and utilization, as a gamer I want everything possible from every product, whether or not it makes sense ... And with NWN, there are many very, very good modules (Single Player) out there, some arguably better than the OC (original campaign). I could just imagine what some creative SW geeks could do with the Aurora toolkit geared for sabers and force powers ... Mike

DarthMuffin
I'm also quite happy they didn't include a toolset or the like. Personally, I like long and epic stories (BG fan here), and NWN was a little bit disappointing for me... IMO, about 80% of the mods and scenarios created by the community are total cr@p. I generally only look at the ones in the hall of fame, because they're the ones with decent story, and I think that an RPG without a story is not an RPG I didn't play the XBOX version (don't have one, and don't want to), but IMO, if there's no multiplayer (that's a shame actually. co-op with friends would be so nice ) or tools, that means they did a really great "campaign". Frosty_V2.1
I guess there is alot of crap modules out there but what bugs me the most is the time it takes for the parts of series of modules to be at a good playable state. I'm not blaming anyone or anything, how can I? Just a bit of bugger with some of the good series, I hate cliffhangers! I wonder if they've got something up their sleeves on this front(MP/Tools) for their "Unnannounced, Currently with out a publisher, PC Game"...
