obi
Ok, Today, my father was being the usual mean person that he is, so I talked about different ways I was going to "kill" him. Anyone who knows me in the slightest bit knows I would not kill anyone, especially my father. Now I know that it is sort of....wrong...to talk about killing someone, but when it's in an obviously joking/funny form and someone gets very offensive, even to the point of blaming you for creating chaos, thats when you know that there is absolutely 0 sense of humor in the person/room you were talking to. I would understand if someone, say, lost their father, for example, and then got offensive. However, if you didn't know that fact about that person, and you joke(still not knowing about it), and then the entire place turns against you, is that right or wrong? Where is the laughter, people? Society, as a group, needs to lighten up. This includes political correctness. Because of PC, by future children will not know the pleasure of calling a stupid person a retard. El Sitherino
I agree. Sometimes PC pisses me off that I have to go out of my way just to make every single person happy. When I'm with my friends we sometimes do stupid things and we catch eachother on it and say things like "THat was retarded" or "You're severly retarded" and people would yell at us saying that's rude and offensive. I dunno just seems pointless making a big deal out of such a meaningless thing. I agree people need to lighten up. What really pisses me off is that they bitch about little things but when I bitch about something serious like a dude called a girl a bad name like slut they tell me to lighten up. Society sucks. I try to help it change with protest and humour but often it doesn't work as I'm sure many of you have figured out, but never give up the good fight for a humourful society Obi. Datheus
I just ignore it... And I think that's about all one can do in a world like this... I think it just all stems from the fact that no one just wants to be themselves... Always this, that, placing things in order. He's gay, she's stupid, et cetera... Most people arn't too bad if you get one or two alone in a single area... But it's when you're dealing with large amounts of people... I dunno, the whole playing field changes. We'll always be fighting that battle. Society's views might change, but society will always be a close minded thing. That's just the very nature of society So I just ignore it. If a few people don't like me for my mouth, great. I think that's pretty damn funny. It makes me giggle. I just use society against itself to weed out the idiots. That way I only surround myself with the cream of the crop.
Kain
You wanna talk no sense of humor? This guy who used to be a 'friend'(atleast, as much as I consider someone a 'friend') has absolutely no sense of humor...unless its against someone else. Me and my 'friends'(I'm not too trusting. Can you tell?)are always bull****tin around, making fun of each other, and whatever. This poor bastard would get sooooooooo offended at the slightest things. We play D&D, and he described his character as(I quote) "Standing tall with long, dazzeling, black hair". Who uses 'dazzeling' for anything? Well, I laugh at him and call him a shmuck. Whats he do in retaliation? Makes me fight 3 creatures that I hadn't a fighting chance against. Then my brother came down and took over for a bit. So this guy gets all upset and starts throwing his dice around like he's 4 years old. Well, now he's at college and has a roomate. All this guy owns are the cloths on his back, and he gets pissed at his roomate for turning off the DVD player that this 'friend' of mine was watching so the roomate could watch baseball on HIS TV, then this 'friend' comes online and bitches at me about it and how he gets no respect from his roomate...Duh. So then he comes home and makes his brother(another one of my 'friends')cry by saying he's a bad brother. Ahem, this guy got his brother in so much **** over the dumbest ****(I.e: We acted like we were gonna make him walk home from the store[a mere 3 block walk], but then he wouldn't get back in the car, and then he cried to his mother[this guy was 17 at the time]and gets his bro in trouble). Now if we say anything to him, he says(and I quote)"You're living in the past and you don't know my side of the story". Yea, cuz we weren't there when it happened...idiot. Was this a rant? Yes. Does it have a meaning? Yes, and I'm going to make it now. People without senses of humor tend to drag the people around them down. I can't tell you how many games were totally screwed over becuase this sonofabitch decided that a little critizism CAN hurt someone (GOD DAMN!! If we don't wanna play Oriental Adventures, quit trying to make us you dumb sonofabitch). Seriously you people with no senses of humor, where were you when your mama and daddy were teaching you common sense?
