Clefo
So the big game's tommarow, and I have something riding on it. To explain: One of my teachers is a big Patriots fan (She's originally from Boston), and she's been spouting all year how they're SOOOOO great! The Monday after the championship games she took a vote on who people wanted to win the game. Almost everyone (that being the people who don't watch Football so hence are suck-ups) voted New England, while the free-thinking radicals (the people who do) voted for Carolina. So she made this wager with me and the other guy who voted Carolina: Depending on who wins the game, the person going for the losing team has to buy the class a ****load of bagels and other good breakfast food and lose face in front of the class... So in other words: GO PANTHERS!
Tie Guy
Well, i guess it's obvious who i'm voting for...

darthfergie
whoa...scary...I'm in the majority for once... Yeah...I've always been the one to pick the darkhorse for the superbowl...well...sort of...these are all the SBs I've seen...and the italisized ones are the seasons where I really didn't watch much football because I was too young to care. XXXVII Jan. 26, 2003 Tampa Bay 48, Oakland 21 (picked Tampa since day one of the season) XXXVI Feb. 3, 2002 New England 20, St. Louis 17 (I believe I supported the Eagles...but when it came to SB I picked the Pats to much derision and then laughed at all the unbelievers) XXXV Jan. 28, 2001 Baltimore 34, N.Y. Giants 7 (Ravens since the begining of season) XXXIV Jan. 30, 2000 St. Louis 23, Tennessee 16 (Tennessee since begining of season...one yard! :| ) XXXIII Jan. 31, 1999 Denver 34, Atlanta 19 (well...I picked Denver...so sue me, they were heavily favored, but there wasn't any way the Falcons were going to win) XXXII Jan. 25, 1998 Denver 31, Green Bay 24 (Denver...I had just seen Green Bay win, I didn't want a repeat) XXXI Jan. 26, 1997 Green Bay 35, New England 21 (Green Bay...only watched the SB...didn't watch anything else) XXX Jan. 28, 1996 Dallas 27, Pittsburgh 17 (Dallas...only watched the SB...didn't watch anything else) XXIX Jan. 29, 1995 San Francisco 49, San Diego 26 (49ers...my brother is still a 49ers fan today)
Boba Rhett
I... have no clue. o-O Which team has the best cheerleaders?
edlib
Due to geographical location, I'm afraid that I will have to go with the Patriots. Civic duty, don'tchaknow? Actually, it's very, very odd for me to hear any New England area team being referred to as anything but the "scrappy underdog team" in any contest. This hasn't happened since the Celtic's heyday during the 80s... Hmmm...
Artoo
You could call me bandwagon... but I like watching teams that are ranked among the obscure for awhile come out to dominate. Like watching the people who lose all the time come out and win for once... so I always pick the team who's done the worst in the past in my mind and who I want to see win. Needless to say I'm rooting for the panthers also.
Snafu7
i was looking through the Sports section In the paper today, New England is supposed to win 24-16. I personaly want the panthers to win, but i agree with the paper, I think the patriots will win.
edlib
Lightning strikes twice! That was a damn good game, and I was pretty sure the Panthers had it there for a couple of minutes, but the Pats repeated their final-seconds game-winning strategy from the last Superbowl they were in and pulled it off again! Hoo-Ah! The Panthers played a really good game though, and made the Pats defense look rather shabby. They're a really good team, and it really could have gone either way... (although I'm happier it went the way it did! )
darthfergie
why? Why did the pats have to win in a last second fieldgoal...AGAIN. *mumble*stupid 2 point conversions*grumble* IF ONLY I WAS THE COACH! *stumbles off to play Madden and to thrash the Pats in a dazed confusion*
Clefo
Rooting for the Patriots is like rooting for the house in Blackjack. Why the Sam Hill did John Fox go for two those two times? If he didn't, he would have had 31 points, the Pats would have no incentive to go for two that one time, so that last second field goal would have just tied it! Tie Guy
Because he wanted to be up by three points so that the Pats would need only tie with a field goal. At the time, a PAT wouldn't do us any good because we'd only be up by two. Still, i wouldn't have gone for two since there was twelve minutes left, but i can't fault him entirely either. Snafu7
I thought it was a pretty good game. The first quarter, and part of the 2nd were really boring, I took more interest in the commercials at that time.
Billy Shears
Uh, football, right......go.....team..... Down here in South Jersey, everyone roots for the Eagles even though our family actually supports the Redskins. I just laugh every year, everyone says "This is the year! They're going all the way!" Last year (I actually did watch parts of the game) one of the Eagles was wide open about 15 yards off of the endzone, so he got a pass. Everyone jumped up and they were like, "This is it! It's all over!" Then that huge pass got intercepted by the other team and they took it all the way to the other side of the field and got a touchdown. Everyone was in shocked silence. Funniest. Thing. EVER. And then they always razz me cause I like the Redskins (I guess) and say that the Eagles made it farther than they did. That's when I take my dad's advice and tell them about the superbowls the Redskins won. Then I ask how many the Eagles won.
