Arán
BGDA2 is a great game I am going to buy any day now. I have the BGDA and i thought it was one of the best Rpg games ever! You can go to the main website here: http://bgda2.blackisle.com If there already has been a thread like this feel free to close it;)
StormHammer
I've been playing Baldur's Gate: Dark Alliance, and I've got as far as the Thief boss. It's a good game, but I wouldn't call it the best RPG ever. The original Baldur's Gate is a far deeper gameplay experience - and Morrowind or Knights Of The Old Republic are probably the best RPGs on a console at the moment. As for RPGs on the PC, take your pick from Neverwinter Nights, Arx Fatalis, Knights Of The Old Rebublic, and from what I've heard (yet to play it yet) Gothic II. If I ever complete BG: DA I might pick up the second one - but I've seen a preview (on Cybernet in the UK) that it's basically more hacking and slashing, and most of the enemies aren't very big compared to those in the original. I played it through on the GBA - it is my favorite GBA game as of now! I doubt it is the best, but the combination of a D&D skill system with a reasonably easy hack-n-slash system was just a blast for me. And, unlike the console versions, monsters respawn when you leave and re-enter dungeons, so I got to level 23 as a Sorceror without doing much more than going back to sell stuff. I picked BG: DA up for cheap for the GC ... maybe some day I'll try it ... Mike

It's got some good 3D graphics, and the old bird's eye view of things. You can pan the camera around if need be. You're in direct control of the combat, but I wish you could zoom into the action sometimes.
Arán
Stormahammer I did not say that it was the "best" rpg game ever I said it was "one" of the best games by my book. Lets forget this now. Lets forget this now. My apologies for misreading your post. *plucks out eyeballs and gives them a quick polish* And yeah...I'm playing the dwarf too. It's funny watching him run. Any tips for tackling that Thief boss? My three attempts at him so far have all met with death...
txa1265
Hmmm ... my intent is to play as the Sorceress. I played (as I said) a Sorceror on my GBA, and when I hit the Thief boss I had fireball and 3rd level Magic Missle available, so I ran around like a fool hurling fireballs at him and quaffing potions. In the GBA there is a ... subsequent boss in that Chapter who was much tougher for me. Don't know how that works in the console version. [edit] OK, I checked GameFaqs and scanned a walkthrough to see ... it looks just like the GBA version. So you are facing Karne. He can be a bugger. Between him and the next boss I had the hardest time of just about any point before the end of the game. Mike

Is it more impressive that Golden Sun ? mtfbwya I've never played Golden Sun. I generally own re-done FPS games (had Doom, still have Duke Nukem Advance) and Star Wars Games (Jedi Power Battles, New Droid Army and Flight of the Falcon ). I've been looking for D&D games since enjoying NWN, KoTOR and BG2 so much starting last fall. I picked up Eye of the Beholder for really cheap, and then got BG DA. I picked up Legend of Zelda, but got stuck repeat-dying at one point and put that aside last week. I'm currently playing LOTR:RotK, which is fun. I also have Final Fantasy Tactics Advance but haven't played either yet. I admit it is an underused luxury item for me ... at least until recently. ET Warrior
Me and my best friend played the original BG: DA on a rental on his PS2, and we beat it in like, 2 days because we just kept playing for like, a whole day and a half. Very fun. Little replay value, but a good game to play and just have fun with.

It took me longer (no estimate, though) on the GBA, but that is somewhat due to respawning monsters. I just plugged the game into our 'Cube for a few minutes yesterday ... it is a nice looking game. The Burning Hands effect is very nice, can't wait to see more. Mike

Male Dwarf=Fighter Female Elf=Sorcerer Male Human=Aracane Archer, You attack manually for an example you don't attack like you do in NWN.You can play two player coop. I think you know this allready but i'll write it anyways.

Astrotoy7
heh, I'm playing DA2 now, after picking it up earlier today. I had a bit of a giggle when after leaving my player(barbarian) still for a little while he started hassling me, saying stuff like "I need to go look for trouble" and "I want blood and glory, get back to playing or I'll disembowel you!"...funny stuff mtfbwya
