Double Fine Productions needs YOU

Double Fine Productions are seeking TESTERS!!

You will not be paid, but they will give you paper cranes and back rubs, and you will get to meet the famous Gaurav Mathur!!!!

It is best that you are available during the day to work in the Double Fine offices in San Francisco. From what I've heard, you'll get two days a week testing. It's not like you needed those two days off work. Go on. Eventually you might break down from lack of sleep, switching between Double Fine and your OTHER job relentlessly, going insane and finding bugs all day and things like that. You might develop a permanent twitch in your eye. You may even have a panic attack, or start spelled 'magic' with a K. Whatever happens, you'll get to play the excellent game Psychonauts all day long, and then report back to me like a spy.

And the best part is, when they hire real, PAID testers in a few months, you'll be the first people they consider.

And then, when you get cushy jobs at Double Fine, playing with mice and pretending to make excellent games all day long, you can put in a few good words for me when I leave college.

This is clearly an exciting oppertunity to be had by all.

Apart from those who live no where near San Fransisco.

You're lucky, trust me.

Anyway, I would personally rather wait until Psychonaughts is topnotch perfect the way Double Fine wants it to be. And plus, they're trying to make a demo, so most likey the testers won't be playing it from the beginning.

Unless, of course, you're one of those assholes who skips to the end of the book first or walks into a movie theatre when its already halfway over. But I'm a purist.

Don't worry, Yuf, you'll meet guava mother someday.

[off topic]

hey. i just found out two things. there is a giant monkey head at the gator golf thingy. ok. nothing special. maybe i am just too screwed to recognize this earlier. more disturbing: there is a sam and max totem (sam sitting on max) in indy's office at the university in indy3. i mean. how? err.. why? the game came out 5? 6? years before sam and max? i didnt even know about sam and max back then..

i smell conspiracy.

maybe i've lost you, but didnt INDY3 came out YEARS before sam and max (the game) was even planned?

and yes, you may think there was a reason why i called it "giant monkey head". :dozey:

Well, Steve Purcell was the creator of the Sam n Max comics which existed way before the game. And he worked at LucasArts. So maybe he put his characters in there, in the same kind of way as programmers sneak in programmer art.

Like the Piano in the Monkey Island 2 demo.

Sorry, didn't mean hit the road, meant sam n max, and they've been inherent in LA's games for bloody ages. SOMI had a referance to them (one of the idols in front of the giant monkey head in question bears a striking resemblence to our favorite freelance crime fighting duo) so I guess the guys at LA just loved to so much. Also, didn't Purcell do some background art for MI2, so he was obviously involved at some point. Or am I just talking crap?

It's the crap isn't it?

Why didn't anyone tell me!!!!! (five exclamation marks, you know what that means)

yeah. one more than four. :¬:

but hell yes, you are right, there is this idol thing in mi1.

a fiercly thinkening plot?

:)

i think it's a decent kind of blatant cross promotion. but done well, though. a bit funny too.

ps: maybe i should review the mi2demo.
