Darth_Kitty Posted May 17, 2004 Posted May 17, 2004 First A. How do you do it and B How to I make a vehicle use say the tauntauns death ainmation?
Psyk0Sith Posted May 17, 2004 Posted May 17, 2004 A.You animate the bones in max. Keshire proved it's possible to use character studio to do it, i suggest you use that method since the biped already is setup with IK chains (i find it much easier). B.You cant, unless you re-use the tauntauns bone structure/GLA: just like a human player model, your skeleton will be rejected by the GLA if the bones dont match. No need to make a new thread for every question .
keshire Posted May 19, 2004 Posted May 19, 2004 MMmmmm, character studio. XSI won't actually recognize character studio as a skeleton though. At least not from what I've seen. You have to create a regular skeleton and then contrain the bones to A biped or some other "puppet" rig.
keshire Posted May 19, 2004 Posted May 19, 2004 Create your skeleton with "bones" Name them apropriately. create your Biped. Biped is awesome for its IK solvers and animation helpers. on each bone of the original skeleton constrain the position and rotation to the corresponding bone of the Biped. Hit the animate button and go hog wild. Read several of the other tuitorials around the forums to make sure you don't screw anything up.
-]Holoman[- Posted May 24, 2004 Posted May 24, 2004 Hmm .. I try to make a vehicle with new animations ... There comes this error .. did someone know what this is ? ! I did´t have any bone with numbers as Name or with the name M! Carcass (GLA/GLM compiler) v2.1. © Raven Software 1998-2003. darthviper107 Posted May 24, 2004 Posted May 24, 2004 Well, your XSI file is named wrong, it's supposed to be root.XSI and then you have at least two bones with the same name.
-]Holoman[- Posted May 25, 2004 Posted May 25, 2004 KK I´ve renamed the .xsi But I Have no bones with the same name ...
darthviper107 Posted May 26, 2004 Posted May 26, 2004 Check your bone names and rename them, not just Bone01 and so on, something descriptive about it without spaces. Then try it again. Make sure you are using the right XSI exporter, there is only one for 3ds Max that works right.
-]Holoman[- Posted May 30, 2004 Posted May 30, 2004 1.) I´ve checkt the names .. all are diverent 2.) My XSI is working right ( is not my first model ) 3.) Could it be, that the error comes, because I´ve copy the bones ? or must I create all bones new .. not copy the first ?
keshire Posted May 30, 2004 Posted May 30, 2004 241 frames heh. If all else fails try the older version of carcass (JO version). I've noticed it gives me problems sometimes.
