Oh, and furthermore, puzzle games have probably the lowest replayability of any genre of game, because you have already solved the puzzles, so it's really just a matter of repetition and doing exactly as you've done before. weeeeee

Where exactly does it state that a person without problems must enjoy puzzle video games? Furthermore, you can save the majority of RPGs anytime, they almost ALWAYS have a great story, and they DO put your mind to work, because you typically have to solve puzzles, AND figure out how to use your entire party to collectively beat the bad guys. So basically your telling me that you don't like to sit down have fun playing a puzzle solving game again, because you don't like relaxing during a game. Also It's relaxing because you don't need to worry about getting attack, or reaching somewhere in time. Alot less of an headache. I can stop to look at the scenery, so many people don't like games like Myst, My last statement is my opinion just as my others, just as yours. they DO put your mind to work, because you typically have to solve puzzles, AND figure out how to use your entire party to collectively beat the bad guys. Yeah it's called stratedgy, basic trail and error, till you get it right not like Myst where you have to find out the only way to do a puzzle. It's a diffrent kind of puzzle solving. No, i'm telling you that I don't like to sit down and mindlessly do puzzles I've already done. It's like trying to solve a riddle you already know the answer to. It doesn't stimulate the mind, it mostly just dulls it Puzzle games are ALSO a trial and error, just like an RPG. You think, well maybe if I do THIS...no, that doesn't work...well what about if I do THIS....drat....er........ Note I've never said I don't like puzzle games. I said I don't like Myst, let me have my own opinion on a game, jeeeeeez.

lotr-sam0711
Originally posted by TheHobGoblin Thats the problem with most people today. They want to have some sort of weapon an something to kill with it. People would rather play a money sucking, time wasting RPG for 8 hours non stop and get nowhere, then play a game you could save anytime, hear a great story, and put the mind to work. Basically the problem is alot of people want an action game rather then a good old fashion puzzle solving. I'll admit that I have more action games then I do solving, but I get the most enjoyment out of a solving game. Because it's based on common sense and rational thinking. Not how much life or ammo you have left. The game is always fun to play through. Alternate endings, playing for speed. It's never boring. I agree with you 150%
Samuel Dravis
I like adventure games, but dislike ones that have puzzles that have no connection with the game other that that they are puzzles. And the puzzles that make no sense except in the most liberal way. Those are quite annoying. But other than that, I agree with you guys. I'm even advertising an adventure game in my sig right now... Master_Keralys
Astro and anyone else turned off by Myst3 (because it was somewhat dull) - have hope. The first 2 (if you haven't played them) are much, much better. Unfortunately, while 3 was made with Cyan as, in essence, consultants, they didn't actually develop it. UbiSoft did not only the development in terms of the software but the story as well... so that's a huge difference. MYST and Riven are incredible games. ET, I disagree with you all the way on the MYST games not being enjoyable. But I can understand where you're coming from, especially on the replayability aspect of things. I can't get URU (my old comp, running at a measly 600 mHz won't support it and I cannot afford to buy anything newer at the moment), and the same will unfortunately be true for MYST 4: Revelation.
