In either case, they are below the recommended requirements for the game since they don't have the appropriate connection. Unfortunately, they may miss out. Originally posted by joesdomain Lucasarts wants to make a profit. Why make a expansion pack that can only be downloaded through the web for PC, X-box, and PS2. They would lose money to make it free. Then they would have to charge money for a download and many people wouldn't pay for a download that may or may not work. Only PC would be available for a new game via CD. Unless PS2 and X-box has developed technology I don't know about. If they put it on CD, then consoles may miss out, but they would still make more money than if they had free downloadable content for all platforms. And personally, I'd love to see the consoles get it stuck to them for a change. God knows it has happened to the PC often enough. Originally posted by Hiroki Oh yes, the NJO isn't Star Wars, oh they killed Chewie, boo-freakin'-hoo. Cry me a river. Its EU, its Star Wars. They will never make a NJO game due to the majority of the casual SW fans not knowing about it at all. Most people might buy such a game because it has Star Wars on the cover, and then what the hell these Vong things are. Then you have the deep divisions between lovers and haters of the series. Lucasarts knows this. Why make a game with the Vong and cater to only a subset of the total customer base? It would be a foolish business move. But as you say, Boo-freakin'-hoo to NJO fans. Originally posted by yaebginn oh, and lucas doesnt include them in his vision because he's not going to do a movie on them. Now he's focusing on prequels. He doesn't include them because then he can completely disregard it if he chooses. We have already seen this with the new movies. And, in his own words: "There are two worlds here," explained Lucas. "There’s my world, which is the movies, and there’s this other world that has been created, which I say is the parallel universe – the licensing world of the books, games and comic books. They don’t intrude on my world, which is a select period of time, [but] they do intrude in between the movies. I don’t get too involved in the parallel universe." and "The movies are Gospel, and everything else is Gossip."

yaebginn
he doesnt inlcude them in his movies, cause they are seperate things. the movies are hard core. but he still reads them. So far, you have contradicted nothing which I have said. we are on complete agreemnet unless I missed something. He doesnt include books, he reads them, books can sometimes contradict movies. And I do hope they dont make a Vong exp pack, it'd be too confusing with the bugs and the jelly. Fuzzy, ps2 rox, we dnt have to pay to play online, unlike those xbox fools. Whoopknacker
For those of you that say NJO is not StarWars, are you saying that figuratively? Last time I looked the books said Star Wars on them. It is also property of LucasFilms, so there is some creative input on their part I am sure. Hiroki
Yup, it is the official stuff, even if GL doesn't LIKE them, and said they wern't in his vision, he didn't say that they didn't happen. Also, just because the Empire isn't in it, doesn't make it not Star Wars. Star Wars has a massive and rich history before the Empire was even a thought. How can you back up such a claim? And GL FULLY suports the pre-ANH books in general, and enjoys most of them, so you can't even try that one...
lukeiamyourdad
Stop this EU against movie debate. Eu lovers, get over it, no one is going to make a game about the NJO. It won't sell well. Now, no one has dared claimed this but if someone says that KotOR had success and it was EU so people must like it I'll kill him. KotOR didn't distort the Star Wars reality like the NJO does. It has the same old Sith enemy vs the Jedi. The NJO is like every other crappy sci-fi crap out there. Invaders from a foreign galaxy coming to invade another...oooo original... That's why most people don't consider the NJO Star Wars . Star Wars' story was about humans from a galaxy fighting other humans from the same galaxy. It was a civil war. It was different from other sci-fi movies. All the other had Aliens invading Earth or something. Star Wars did not. It was great because of that. Go watch Star Trek, NJO lovers! Hiroki
I didn't SAY I wanted NJO in a game. *drills them some ear holes.* I said it was official EU. And EU is Star Wars. I just hate it when people show any kind of denial like that, about anything. It just drives me nuts...
joesdomain
New need for expansion packs for this game especially for expanded universe material like the NJO and Vong. Most people typically associate Star Wars with fighting the empire. Or at least the fall of the republic and birth of the empire like in the prequel trilogy. The only novel I like was Shadows of the Empire and that was set between episodes V and VI. It had the empire in it.

Idei
The expansion that I would most like to see would focus on space combat. Specifically, I would like to see boarding actions, squadron based combat, and capital ships. In Star Wars terms, X-Wings, Tie Fighters, Star Destroyers, Mon Calamari cruisers, and frigates like the Millenium Falcon. Idei

yaebginn
one thing, star trek is way beneath star wars. another thing, if you read the NJO you may enoy them. While some say only true fans dont read EU, (on starwars.com forums) it isnt true. cause IMO, if you really like star warsm then ud want it to continue, to find out what happens next. guess what, luke has a kid. I read Star Wars books. I read The Truce at Bakura and the whole Jedi Academy Trilogy. I ordered the first of the Thrawn Trilogy from someone on E-Bay, but after about a half a year, I think I can safely say it will never get here
yaebginn
I'm more or less with ya'll in saying I dont want EU to be made into video games, but I do enjoy EU and hope it keeps going and count it as real star wars.

fishlore
How many Star Wars games are there? Hundreds right? Maybe more. How many games, not mods, but games have you seen set in the EU? I'm not saying there aren't any, but I've never seen or heard of one. I mean there might be an EU aspect here or there, but not a true EU game. Chances are, that trend would continue. I'd like to see some EU stuff myself though.

Poggle
The EU in general has provided some excellent characters in its own right as well as creating good background for many existing star wars characters whilst also being entertaining in its own right and does have a place in star wars gaming as it should.... the NJO series however is a pile of trash and a general blight on not only the star wars universe but fiction in general and IMO should be kept as far away from any games and or expansion packs as possible. lukeiamyourdad
I say the best EU books out there are the Thrawn Trilogy. Those were good books with a good villain.
