martha gets jail!

well, today at roughly 10:25 ET, everyone's favorite cook, gardener, and company owner (if everyone is rayjones and zoom rabbit :p) martha stewart received her sentence, here's the story (in my own words):

martha was expected to receive somewhere from 10-16 months of prison time, and this morning martha was sentenced to 5 months in a federal penitentiary, followed by 5 months under house arrest, as well as 2 years probation and a $30,400 fine, although she could've been charged up to $250,000 for each crime she was accused of, which could've totaled up to a whopping $1 mil.

martha will be spending her prison time in a prison in danbury, ct for the next five months. afterward, she will placed under house arrest and sent to her house in (i forgot where). there, she will be allowed to leave her house for up to 48 hours a week, but only for medical appointments, religious services, and shopping for necessities. however, all the time, she will be forced to wear an ankle bracelet that monitors where she is and exactly what she is doing at all times. martha will only be required to spend one day a week, though, literally inside the house. the rest of the time, she will be allowed to spend outside.

after the trial ended, martha said, "today is a shameful day. it is shameful for me, my family, and my beloved company". the judge decided that this statement did not amount to an apology, or even remorse for doing what she had done. had it been an apology, martha's jail time may have been even further reduced. and even though martha is spending the minimum of 10 months in jail, she still plans to appeal.

later, once martha exited the courtroom, she stood at a podium outside and gave a speech, saying things such as, "i have been suffocated and nearly choked to death during these past months," and apologized to her workers saying, "nearly 200 workers at my company have lost their jobs because of this, and i am very, very sorry to all those people". in closing, martha said, "don't worry, i will be back. i will be back."

luckily, for martha's stock, it went up over 30% today due to the decision of the court. i guess that could be the one upside to this...

anyway...anyone got anything to say about this?

Martha Stewart is a entrepeneur in America and she was put up for trial for insider trading. Since she lied to federal government while doing this she is now on her way to prison.

 Thanks mate! Now I know a little more...

I'm sorry but you won't be a moderator tonight.

I called Harold and told him my plans, then he asked what the hell was he supposed to do, I told him he would make you a moderator, he said he doesn't know what I'm talking about. Then I shouted "Y'know what, I hate you and I hate your assface!"

Anyway, Peter is my favourite.
