Whoopknacker Posted July 30, 2004 Posted July 30, 2004 I noticed that most of the air vechiles can and do have more than one occupant. In BF42 it was frowned upon when people would take a B17 that had three positions and just take off with one person. I would like to see more team work when it comes to using vechiles especially aerial ones. Also the Republic Gunship should be a mobile spawn point.

Alegis Posted July 30, 2004 Posted July 30, 2004 well I dont have that problem in bfv anyways. And if they do take of i shoot em down. to set an example
Whoopknacker Posted July 30, 2004 Author Posted July 30, 2004 Good way to get your teammates ticked and get you kicked. I will agree that a majority of the time the pilots do not fly solo. That was good planning on the part of BFV dev team to make the vechiles team oriented. I cant wait to see how the ground vechiles fair for team work.
Ice Demon44 Posted July 30, 2004 Posted July 30, 2004 I dont think that vehicles should require more than one person to take off. That would just get boring. Off topic, how many people does it take to man the AT-AT and the AT-ST?
Master William Posted July 30, 2004 Posted July 30, 2004 Hmm, the AT-AT probably needs more than one person to control it... curious on that one
THE BADGER: Posted July 31, 2004 Posted July 31, 2004 Off topic, how many people does it take to man the AT-AT and the AT-ST? I read a article and it said that while playing on endor the guy could not understand why it was so difficult to shoot and pilot the AT-ST at the same time. Until another player joined him inside the AT-ST. One was the gunner and the other the pilot. So I guess you can go with one person but it's easier with two. I'm not sure about the AT-AT. Oh and back on topic, No to the poll. There are times that there will be no teammates around and maybe you got a x-wing in front of you and a TIE fighter blasting everything that moves on the ground above you. Should you have to wait for a teammate to come so you can take off and take out the TIE? I know x-wing has only one pilot but you get the picture.
B1GC Posted July 31, 2004 Posted July 31, 2004 The AT-AT has a pilot, co-pilot, and 4 gunners To operate it succesfuly I would think you would need a pilot and at least 2 gunners

DieStarWarsGeek Posted July 31, 2004 Posted July 31, 2004 So they're gonna make at-at's like the leviathan in unreal tournament 2004? that'd be pretty sweet.
Ice Demon44 Posted July 31, 2004 Posted July 31, 2004 Thanks you all. One more thing though where do you get out of the AT-AT? I haven't seen a door or anything.

I haven't seen a door or anything. Im sure they will do something like rope down, like a helicopter with spec ops. I think in the film it was more of an APC and tank. Objective was is to clear heavy resistance and transport troops safely to objective. When the ATAT reached its destination, it knelt down like a horse and would open troops and equipment.
Ice Demon44 Posted July 31, 2004 Posted July 31, 2004 I just hope taht if they do that the trap door isnt constantly open.

Evil Dark Jedi Posted August 2, 2004 Posted August 2, 2004 You dont need two people to fly a ship because you just need a pilot to fly something. The co-pilot is the person that controls the secondary weapons.I think.
reelguy227 Posted August 2, 2004 Posted August 2, 2004 Originally posted by Evil Dark Jedi The co-pilot is the person that controls the secondary weapons.I think. good point .that does make sense.yu know like the copilot/navigator on a plane ,he doesnt fly he navigates and stuff.

You are most likely correct but none the less in the movie as well there are 2 guys in the control room making the at at move. so the co-pilot could be doing other things
panzer214 Posted August 16, 2004 Posted August 16, 2004 involveing how to get into the atat i think that it will be like bf 1942.in that you walk up to a at at,press your enter button and "magicly teleport in".but i do hope they put a door or something. and i voted no because if that guy piloting the ship, tank etc... was smart he'd WAIT for someone to get in with him thus increasing his firepower.but if no one was going to come in the first place and he needs a co-pilot to use the ship then that ruins the fun for him.
Virtuosis Posted August 16, 2004 Posted August 16, 2004 I voted no too, so what if someone isn't being nice, thats what the mic is for. Just mention you'd love to tag along and maybe they'll wait for you. Hopefully there will be some sort of teamwork in this game!
Mountainforest Posted August 17, 2004 Posted August 17, 2004 Would be a bad thing if you have to wait before someone jumps in. In battlefield I hate it to be the tailgunner of a plane (and I'm probably not thge only one). If there would be such a rule there two, those plains wouldn't get of the ground. BTW, what would happen if one of the passengers decides to use it's parachute while flying?
Whoopknacker Posted August 17, 2004 Author Posted August 17, 2004 I would likely just take back my Yes vote because having more than one person in a vechile has its own perks anyhow. What do you think about vechiles that have more than one person to be an automatic spawn point. This way if someone does bail then the position can be taken quickly. Bottom line, I think to play in clans or groups that arent out for themselves.

Now someone spawns in the back, and jumps out with a parachute above the base. Now another person can spawn in the back of the plane, also jumping out above the base. This can go one without a limit. When the pilot keeps flying circles above the enemie base, he can maintain a constant flow of paratroopers. His plane would function as a spawnplane (a huge tactical advantage), and normally those planes are very rare.

Besides, spawning in the gunship in my opinion, would'nt work as there does'nt seem to be enough space in the gunship to spawn. :jawa
ShadoWraith Posted August 17, 2004 Posted August 17, 2004 There shouldnt be moving spawn points exept the AT AT, thats ok cause its so slow and huge.
Virtuosis Posted August 18, 2004 Posted August 18, 2004 I agree that AT-AT's should only be spawn points, because those things are huge. While republic gun ships arent that big, so they can't hold the simulated bunch of troops the AT-AT can hold.
