At the moment, as seen on the OPM demo the game features a radar where both teammates and nearby enemies are displayed. Unless this is wrong and confirmation is known this feature wont be in the retail version, the poll.

In my opinion, a game with enemy radar will turn out into spray fights, there will be no sneaking in small teams etc etc, they will always expect you.

So i guess its your chance to put your opinion in a poll :p

Alegis, thanks for the message. In fact your are talking to just the right dev for what concerns you, however, rest assured, that the final build of the game does not show enemies on radar. I believe it was taken out for the same concerns you had.

Also note the difference between RADAR and a MAP. We have a map, which combines with RADAR to show you where you are on that particular map. Unless you have completely memorized a map, this can be very useful. But I know many of you will never need a map and will memorize them, but it sometimes helps to know where your own teammates are. Which I believe is the current default for the MAP/RADAR

At first I chose no on the poll but I think I would like to re-vote. There is so much going on, so many NPCs and such that without the radar you would really have no clue whats going on. I was so use to playing SOCOM 2, so I never thought about all the NPCs. There is like 50 or more players on the battlefield at one time. To much to keep up with.

guys guys, there is a radar, but only with friendlies.

Maybe it can be handy for SP, but for MP it takes a lot away from the game. And if you played battlefield games before you know its not really chaotic, MP

Don't be so quick as to judge how the game is played according to another. I'll end up laughing if everyone starts complaining about the radar on release without actually playing the game deeper online. Not to mention the not moving, not showing idea comes a long way. It may hide hidden stratagies that we aren't aware of and will bring us closer to victory in matches.

Lol, imagine if an entire team stood still, and all were snipers waiting for the enemy :D

Hehe, the boss on opposite team checks the radar and see's no enemies, so they just runs to the commandpost, not thinking the enemies there.

Then, one by one fells by some blue stripes coming towards them...

That would be funny :p

OK guys, i know i've made comparisons to EA's battlefield games a bunch of times, and now for the umpteenth time i'm gonna do it again. First off thanks to the devs for correcting this. If they left the radar in the game it would have been like that part in Total Recall where they're chasing arnie into the building with that tracking bug in his head. You would see guys shooting wildly in the direction of the bead on the map if they'd left it ingame "THERE!!!!!! THERE!!!!"

But now that it's confirmed the map's out, the radar map is a great way to know where you and your allies are. Also not knowing if there're enemies nearby makes you more cautious which in turn makes the game that much more immersive. I have teamed up many a time with allies in the same vicinity to capture a checkpoint in battlefield vietnam, otherwise, you'll be all by yourself, not knowing if you'll be going in alone or with others, also the map is a good way to know where certain areas are to get into a good sniping position so that you'll be hard to find.

I have literally spent hours as a sniper just picking guys off and them not knowing where i've been for the duration of the level. I would then get into a good position in another level and snipe them again. Sometimes they could pinpoint my position but for the most part i would go pretty much undetected. The best moments, however, were those where another sniper would get you in his cross hairs and it would be a battle to see who could aim better and pull off the first shot.

I've had a lot of those moments, especially when they were won really helped define the game for me, even when the other sniper pulled off the first shot, i'd yell and cuss at the screen because i was so immersed in the game and in the moment. those moments wouldn't be available if the two way radar were left in and all your enemies could freely see where you were. But the fact that they took out that feature it will double the excitement of the game and the fact that it's star wars makes it even more special.
