No Medal for Chewie?

I wonder why Chewie didn't get a medal at the end of ANH? Luke and Han got medals, but poor Chewie gets nothing. Why is Chewie not as significant as Luke and Han?

Well for one, we don't really know if Chewie did anything contributing to the destruction of the Death Star. Luke blew it up and Han saved Luke so he could blow it up. Chewie was just the copilot.

He has to follow Han wherever he goes. He has a life debt to Han, and therefor has to follow him everywhere in case he needs protecting. And has anyone noticed how he controls applause? He roars, they turn to face front, he roars again, and they clap.

i remember was a rumour to have a medal on chewie at the at of ANH on the DVD. whether or not they had done it we'll just have to wait and see.
