Well, i've never seen it, but it's a science fiction, i've heard. Somehting about humans that have become numbers that have to do what's being told to them and stuff...

You're correct to an extent. It revolves around the idea of a futuristic state in which humans serve basically as machines... their lifes, their procreating, pretty much everything is regulated by the government. THX 1138 is the number of the main character who basically "wakes up" and tries to rebel/escape.

Least, that's how I remember it; it's been a few years since I've seen it.

Yeah, I think you are on to something there. :)

Can't remember it all too good, just flashes of it. Been so long since I watched it, and I think I only watched it ones.

more like a cross between Matrix and Equilibrium.

Haven't seen Equilibrium, but I just read a review of it and it looks fairly close to the mark; I'll have to check it out. The concept is fairly old, having been done and redone by numerous sci-fi writers.

The concepts in Equilibrium aren't exactly new nor mind blowing (I think of the story as a 1984/farenheit 451 mix myself) but it IS well done, and the action scenes in it are absolutely fantastic :D

Traces of THX 1138 can be heard a couple times in the Trilogy. In ANH when Luke and Han infiltrated Leia's detention block on the Death Star, Han says that Leia is in "Cell Block 1138." In the Battle of Hoth when General Rieekan is dispatching the Snowspeeder pilots, he orders "Rogues 10 and 11 to Sector 3-8."
