Steelhed Posted September 26, 2004 Posted September 26, 2004 I love this game, And It's almost worth it just for Single-player and Co-op, But, Are we Gonna See the multiplayer actually work lag free? Or Even Close to it? This one I have to sum up as Bad Netcode.. In the Past I've seen people yell,"Bad Netcode", and Usually it was something else, But The Thing that scares me is, I know Nothing About Lucas Arts Support, I've never bought a Lucas Arts Game Before, Do They HAve Good Support? Do you think Multiplayer will ever be what it's supposed to be?
Kasowitz Posted September 26, 2004 Posted September 26, 2004 I think it will be fixed. I bet after the first patch they release things will be working a lot better. Cant Wait.
RDX1 Posted September 26, 2004 Posted September 26, 2004 Well I am not playing multiplayer until a few things happen. 1) Either they release the Linux files that allow you to control the server. (So I can run my server) or a patch that fixes a lot of the multiplayer bugs. Until then, single player is great.
Jan Gaarni Posted September 26, 2004 Posted September 26, 2004 I don't get it, I don't get much lag, so I have to ask, what kind of servers are you playing on? EDIT: Hmmm, or maybe I should ask, what system (PC, XBox, PS2?) are you on?
Jan Gaarni Posted September 26, 2004 Posted September 26, 2004 Nevermind, I just experienced the laging part, plus I was unable to enter any vehicles.
sadisticmonkey Posted September 26, 2004 Posted September 26, 2004 I think they're patching it right now. Or they better be.
Steelhed Posted September 26, 2004 Author Posted September 26, 2004 So Where do we get official information from the Dev's? Here? Or Is There another site that has some updated official info, Like "Yeah Were Workin On It" Or Yadayada... How Do we know they're even working on a patch?
Iceman_IX Posted September 26, 2004 Posted September 26, 2004 Check this out. http://www.lucasforums.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=136402 I haven't had too much lag but games aren't as smooth as they should be.
Steelhed Posted September 26, 2004 Author Posted September 26, 2004 Yeah Thanks Iceman, I saw that right after posting...LoL Good, I hope they realize they have a Gem Of A Game Here, Worthy Of Expansion Packs If They Can Get MP Working Well...
Alegis Posted September 26, 2004 Posted September 26, 2004 I had lag until i started listing servers by ping (green up) instead of IN/MAX It's really amazing how fast servers fill up.
Orichifunk Posted September 26, 2004 Posted September 26, 2004 Well, I've only been able to play 1 entire match online in the spawn of two days since I've gotten the game. So, yeah, I'll just play singleplayer until a demo comes along.

After today, it's really amazing to see how fast the servers empty too. Which isn't really fun to have to join the server between maps.
Iceman_IX Posted September 26, 2004 Posted September 26, 2004 At any given time, I'd bet that a third to a half of the population of actual SWBF servers are not on the list because they are crashed from reloading
