robi
I mean i installed Escape from money island and mostly i get only text writings and not characters actually speaking, even in conversations... Is this how the game is supposed to be, or can i do something about it? Thanks.
Thrik
It's meant to be like that, done to preserve the feel of the originals. ... Seriously though, my initial question would be this; Is your copy legal?
robi
Yes it is. Funny i played it about 2 years ago and i could always remember that the characters where always talking to each other... Too bad its mostly text... it makes the game a little bit more boring(at least for me, i've never played 1 or 2). Now im wondering what the 1.2 giga installation is for... guess the movies take up much space...
Alien426
Music is playing, then? I don't have a solution beyond suggesting to download the patch, although the speech problem isn't mentioned.
Rapp Scallion
Change "text only" in the options to "speech and text" Strange none has mentioned this before...
robi
it is at voice only... maybe because im trying it on a sucky comp it doesn't work... i'll try it on the one i played it 2 years ago... And there is suppoesd to be voice for each dialog no? Because i was at a friend of mine who has CMI and there for each dialog there is voice, for every conversation you can actually hear the conversation... Alien426
Yes, of course. It's not like EMI is an extensive RPG. All dialogues are spoken. That said, does anybody know if there are endeavors into creating artificial speech with different voices, pitch, timbre and emotions?
Joshi
probably... Oh, and Thrik was joking, he's like that sometimes when he thinks you pirated a copy of a game about pirates...
The Bard
well, in a way....it does make sence...
JawaJoey
My first two responses to your problem would be A) Set it to speech and Text. or B) Turn on your volume. If you've already tried that, then I'm all out of ideas.
