Diabloviper10
Got the game and its pretty good. But I did notice that there isn't much room to fly I hope maybe they can expand the levels more. Just wonderin if anyone thought the same.
Iceman_IX
Rather large topic around here. Main map gripe. Too small/not enough flight room. You could add to any one of the Bug/Suggestions threads if you like but I think the sentiment has been much voiced.
RDX1
Yeah, this game is more based for ground forces. The vehicles don't handle too well (Even when sensitivity is max for vehicles) turning isn't that great.
Diabloviper10
ok thanks realized everyone already talking about it after i posted
NCIceman
Yeah, I think we all feel this pain, especially coupled with the rather loose controls.
LoQ
This is a huge complaint amongst players. Larger maps are needed if you are going to have flying vehicles. As soon as you fily straight for 5 seconds, you have left the battlefield. Very lame!!!!
Diabloviper10
So far in my opinion I think that Hoth is the best level and that isn't saying much

Nemios
I fly with max sensivity of the mouse and often at slowest speed (the backwards key). I accelerate only to escape from trouble. This way I can fly with quite success, I don't find the maps too small. I rarely go outside battles and get the warning.
Agent Dark
I hear you, I think the maps could be much bigger, but with the backwards key I find no problems flying. Still bigger maps, that promote more bigger battles, would be very nice! Are they going to make more maps? Or are they going to ditch the game? LoQ
I do the same thing. I use the backwards key until I need to get out of trouble. It's much easier to aim and hit your target as well!
joesdomain
The air space in all the maps if terrible. The maps need to be larger than they are.
Shadey
Yeh I found the flight ceiling by bouncing off it straight into one of the rock formations in the dune sea. Without a doubt it needs to be bigger.
phaethon
Well remember this is a Battlefied 1942/Vietnam engine. Inthose games the same limitation exists. If you want flying space it should have used the Novalogic Joint Operations engine where flying is unrestricted and map size is 50 Kilometers square

From what I gather, I'm sure most people on here would be satisified with map sizes/ceilings comparable with Battlefield..

Yahoo.s2f
They should have used the Joint Ops engine ...almost unlimited movingarea
PBF
The only place I've found flying to be really useful (so far) has been in a Republic Gunship on Geonosis. Mainly because it can hover somewhat and attack with virtual impunity. I cannot get the hang of the snowspeeder on Hoth. I've yet to take down an AT-AT. Agree the airspace should be bigger--but I wonder if that isn't a separate Battlefront game for the next generation systems.
Shadey
Yeh in bf42 I was easily able to go so high as to have all the ground pull away out of view distance. You could set up some nice dive bombing runs in that. I would be satisfied if they matched bf42 on the flight cieling. I suppose being so low the fighters are never out of sight of the ground, means the pilot has to always worry about terrain and ground weapons, which could be good or bad depending on your point of view. edit: Just thought of an idea. The allowed battlefield area is a fair bit smaller than the map area, you know when you cross over those lines and it says 'you are leaving the battlefield'. They could reduce the dissalowed area a bit, its annoying anyway, I would rather come up to the edge of the map then have the computer just blow me up cause ive strayed into a disalowed area. From what I gather, I'm sure most people on here would be satisified with map sizes/ceilings comparable with Battlefield.. i estimate the largest map to be about 1/4 the size of el amein in bf42. now that's a big map for ground units, but for air space it's just a little bit tight. i do the backspace keything myself. it takes alot of the fun of piloting a fast moving vehicle while holding the brakes down 90% of the time. arachon
the only maps there is enough space to fly on is 1.tatooine dune sea 2.geonosis 3.hoth BTW:there is no ranking with these numbers actually i like Hoth most
